Well I for one, will be screaming PC masterrace at my controller when iceborne comes out.

You're good at the game? You're an elitist.
You're using a parser to better yourself? Elitist.
You're making suggestions on how someone can improve themselves? E l i t i s t.
You wipe a farm party constantly but you're having fun playing your way. Nah you're fine dude.
This community astounds me at times.

Frame rate is limited to 90fps. On PS4 Pro it is 60fps.
There are several factors to include such as ping, the users wifi. Whether the controller is plugged into the PS4 via usb cable or not( which is a less than .01 response delay according to Sony).
It really just comes down to the player skill and their ping really. As we all know the difference between a ping of 52 and a ping of 345

Frame rate was unlimited before 5.0 and it will be changed back to unlimited in a coming update because of the huge backlash of people with high refresh monitors. Also it's 2019 high refresh monitors are a more common thing now.
Also it's really false to say that PS4 pro is 60FPS. 60FPS is the target, however it will constantly drop below it especially during fights with a lot of effects (a good example would be the omega fight).
I stopped playing on my pro because of this and well even 60FPS feels less smooth when you have +144Hz monitor on your PC.
However I'm actually curious about PS5 since both Sony & Microsoft said that they are also offering high refresh on lower resolutions with the new consoles next year.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

They already reverted this back last week.

I actually wonder how true that will be, like right now Xbox One X supports 1080p at 120fps but I can’t think of any games that actually utilize it, from what it seems variable refresh rate is more likely to actually see use in next gen consoles.Frame rate was unlimited before 5.0 and it will be changed back to unlimited in a coming update because of the huge backlash of people with high refresh monitors. Not trying to hurt anyones feelings or come across as an elitist but, there is a delay actually. If any of you have ever played on pc with 144fps,(and compatible monitor refresh rate) then swapped to the ps4 going at maybe 30fps?(the first ps4 model, Pro should get 60? I havent played in years..and never owned a pro) Its a massive difference. I used to play ps4 before I bought it on Pc. The difference was as night and day to me. I do actually react to aoes better. But youd need higher frame rate to notice. Pc with similar frame rate wont matter at all. It has to be higher frame rate. Higher FPS means the screen refreshes faster. The faster it refreshes that sooner you see any changes in the image displayed(Aoe markers, character position updates, timers, animation, everything you can see) Its a very very small delay though.. with above 2s gcd, theres no real reason to worry about dps and aoes can still be dodged on any platform fairly easy. It is probably 5-10% easier on a powerful gaming pc with high refresh rate..Its really hard to explain in text. But higher refresh rate is how pros play shooter games. Even if it means they have to play on ugly monitors and at low resolutions. It can make a huge difference in shooter games. Again, in FFXIV it shouldnt matter tbh. Almost everything is on a timer with a delay(such as the gcd) because they wanted people with slow net to be able to play as well. Discrimination in this case is kind of silly. I can only see it mattering for world firsters.

I have played with PS controller since 2.0,and have never had any issues.
First i played with controller on PC, now i play on PS4 pro.
I think some ppl haven't discovered legacy control - if you use legacy, then you have 100% free movement, and don't need to "turn" you can instantly freely move in any direction, even back, without walking - no strafing, no walking, unless you use lock-on.
I Personally know someone who plays with keyboard, and turn with Q, E Keys, so complaining about gamepad users turning, is laughable, esp since you don't even need to turn, with proper set-up.
I find gamepad superior in various cases: 16 skill slots/bar, compared to 12 with keyboard - with R2/L2 you can have easy access to 48 skill slots - or 8 skillbars for 128 slots in total, with 12 buttons.
Only thing awkward about it, is using skills on the D-pad, while moving, so it's best to put skills with cast time there, or move-jump-skill

Saw a video recently, with the slo-mo guys filming on 60hz vs 200hz i think, they wanted to show if it has an impact on gaming (mostly in FPS games) reaction times, and nr of head shots were higher, with higher Hz, but that's largely irrelevant in FFXIV - i rarely pre-dodge aoes, and mostly just react to what pops up, and never get hit by anything, unless i failed to noticed the aoe, or push my luck on dps, or trying to finish a heal before dodging.
In situations like Innocence EX, even 200hz wouldn't save you from blue lines returning, though; in other situations you generally have plenty of time to dodge.
On PS4 pro you can play either 30fps 4k mode, or 60fps 1080.
Seems like majority of players are playing on a console controller.
It is quite unexpected i would say, i dont think so there is any other mmorpg that is played with controller by majority. :P
