Level 72 retainer with 71 gatherer gear can't gather level 71 items

A level 72 retainer in vendored NQ level 71 gatherer gear, cannot gather level 71 items via retainer ventures. Required gathering is 1190 for level 71 items, while the gear gives 1175.

I would assume this will be the same for higher levels (e.g. 72) as the requirement of gathering is 1225

Gear:
Main: Deepgold hatchet (+407)
Sub: Deepgold scythe (+233)
Body: Brightlinen coat of gathering (+233)
Hands: Smilodonskin gloves of gathering (+174)
Legs: Brightlinen bottoms of gathering (+116)
Feet: Smilodonskin shoes of gathering (+12)

Other slots are left empty as they do not provide stats to gathering

I would have thought that minimum stats would match up with minimum level, but they do not. Meaning that it is necessary to either use HQ gear or gather lower level items until the retainer levels up (which should not be a necessity), and equipping higher level nq gear to send the retainer on ventures for lower level gathering nodes

This isn't new. Couldn't meet earlier ones with NQ either like that (trust me, leveled a mining retainer for 30 to 70 waiting for shb.)

Use Materia. It counts. All your slots can give gathering because of that. NQ isn't meant to be good, materia fixes that.
