I like Clemency too.
I like Clemency too.
I don't understand the mindset of only using Clemency in only very narrowly defined instances. It's there, why not use it? A Paladin is just not a paladin with the ability to Lay On Hands. As someone who plays both Paladin and White Mage, I appreciate any and every contribution to keeping the party healthy, no matter how insignificant. Thank you for using every tool at your command to keep us all alive.
Because the mana and GCD can be used on dps instead which makes the run faster.I don't understand the mindset of only using Clemency in only very narrowly defined instances. Usually ( if I am the healer at least ) you're just overhealing and you're not actually helping.
No one is complaining about PLD's using Clemency to stay alive if it's actually necessary, the complaint is that A LOT of PLD's use it completely unnecessarily and are just wasting GCD's and mana.
If I've just thrown a Tetragrammaton and an Afflatus Solace AND you also have a regen on you + Asylum.
Then the last thing that I want to see is Clemency spam.

You can probably use Clemency and just let the White Mage DPS. Glare OP.
PLD is in a really good place especially in Dungeons where unlike the other 3 Tanks you can Shield Bash and stunlock everything for like 10 seconds. And then everything dies.
Please tell me you're not serious.
A WHM Lily heal will do about half again what a Clemency will do and readies 300 potency (and at least 150 AoE potency) in the process and allow for two oGCD weaves. It's at worst damage-neutral. Clemency costs you a Holy Spirit in Req window -- not damage-neutral.
You would provide far more safety by simply spamming your AoE combo than by individually stunning trash mobs who, where at all stun-able, will only be pulled in AoE groups.
You will also provide more safety by stunning mobs that throw out large orange AoE's.
Soooo.....
I mean really what I always get out of these sort of discussions is that there are many different ways to achieve the same end and play your job, some orthodox, some unorthodox, and if it ends with the boss dead and the party on the right side of the dirt then it's all good.
there's this thing that's called moving when there is orange on the ground that you learn at a basic level, also while easily dodge-able AoEs are on the ground it means less stuff hitting you, single target stuns are pointless for the most part in trash packs, unless it's to stop buffs applied to enemies such as berserk on the centaur type mobs in the twinning, which you can use oGCD stun or interrupt/ silence, and keep dpsing.
I could just let bad melee dpsers die this is true.there's this thing that's called moving when there is orange on the ground that you learn at a basic level, also while easily dodge-able AoEs are on the ground it means less stuff hitting you, single target stuns are pointless for the most part in trash packs, unless it's to stop buffs applied to enemies such as berserk on the centaur type mobs in the twinning, which you can use oGCD stun or interrupt/ silence, and keep dpsing.
Not sure why need to debate on pld healing ppl or dps ppl.
If you met one pld that spam Clemency and u dont like it then dont party that pld... Simple. Lol
Im sure that there are pld that use it sparsely and keep thing balance.
Not like every bad pld will come here and read the forum for correction. Lol
