I run everything the first time "blind" with my sister.

We both announce at the start of a run that it's our first time doing the content. If someone gets EXTRA salty then we kick them. And I mean, extra salty... if it's not defused by a second "Hey bud, it's my first time here, didn't know about that mechanic," and they start flooding chat with vitriol... then bye.

That only works for Light Party content of course, because only 3 ppl vote, so you automatically have a 2 to 1 majority.

That being said, I can only recall us ever kicking someone for being extremely salty and nasty TWICE in the four years we've been playing... In my experience most players are pretty chill and don't talk at all, so I always find it strange when these kind of topics pop up since encountering actual "toxic" players has been a rarity for us.

Science parties are fun for some, but others they are quite the ordeal. Maybe use party finder so you can specify that you want a blind run?
I feel the exact opposite of this. When I queue roulettes I do so with the expectation that I am going to always get the worst randoms ever and prepare myself mentally for that. Then if the all the party members have more than just two brain cells it's already going better than I expected and I'm feeling pretty good about that.

When I want to farm stuff for speed, or just don't feel like dealing with BS, THEN I ask in my FC and various Linkshells if anyone wants to make a pre-form. Then I'm 100% guaranteed to not have to babysit anybody.

I agree with you. It seems it's unacceptable for anyone to be new to something in this game.

Edit: Something like a EX trial or savage raid, I DO think if you're joining something like a PF group for that, you should watch a vid or something.

Are you referring to people on the forums? They're probably just venting. I'll certainly talk shit about someone on a forum or to my friends, but unless they're REALLY bad, I'd never say it to their face.

If you're not actually getting any vitriol about this in-game, then don't look stuff up. I certainly don't (except for EX duties), and I can't say I've had any problems. Everybody's new at some point.

Go in blind. Most mechanics are re-used enough that it's obvious what to do based on the icons used, or aren't punishing enough that no one will die if you screw it up once while you learn.

I YOLO'd Susano as DRK. Before the fight started the other tank asked if I wanted to take point, I said I didn't know what I was doing, he said he didn't either so we just jumped in and had fun. Managed to only die once due to being on one side of the big AoE and the safe zone was on the other.

That's what I say. But they honestly feel like if they don't know what to do as a tank, that they shouldn't do it. And it's taking a lot of the fun out of it.

I'm late to the party but I'll be that person. It's just as unfair for two people in a raid to constantly mess up mechanics and wipe the entire group over and over. You two, and other newbies, are not the only ones in the game and unfortunately that falls under "difference in play style", which you can get kicked from groups for. It's fine if you want to run in blind, but it's also perfectly fine for people to not want to deal with it.

Agreed, if they want to kick me for going in blind. Do it, I'll find another group. Blind is more fun, in my opinion.

If they are failing to the same mechanic over and over, I still do not consider this an issue of going in blind, it's them just not grasping the concept. A guide wouldn't help at all if they have seen the mechanic several times and still fail it every time. I might have gone into my ex's blind, but I picked up the mechanics quick, and aside from sometimes a few mistakes (which I blame myself; player error) I can clear them fine.

The game literally tells you that there are new people when you start.
Well, you just mentioned Dungeons, so I was having that as the focus on my comment.
For Raid and EX Trials one can use either the Duty Finder or Party Finder and select "Practice" (some even put "blind run" in the description).
That way most should expect that there are people who don't know the fight from before.
It's a nice feature that has been added and made it easier for people to find likeminded individuals to do content with.

I personally watch atleast a video once to get a hunch of what to expect.
As I personally feel better doing so as I don't get too stressed then.
Everyone have their own playstyle and that's how it should be.

I mean yeah, DF you can't help it. But with some trials, raids, or savage, it's a little unfair to go in completely blind without telling anyone that's your intention first. It's much better just to make a PF for that.

If the content is something you queue into using duty finder (dungeons, PVP, normal raids, normal trials ect), then I wouldn't expect people to have read a guide or know the content. It's always safe to assume that you have people who are new and doing it blindly.

If it's something you join a party finder for (Savage raids and EX trials), then you should read the PF description and see if it's a blind, prog, clear, farm etc.

That's how it is in NA/EU (If I remember correctly, JP does things differently)
