[dev1002] CE/Veteran Title Request

Yoshi + Devs,

This is a simple request. Please add a multi-tiered Title Achievement for total playtime.

I, as well as many others, have played FFXIV since day one. There's a sense of pride in having "been there done that" over the various phases of this games lifespan. That's why I'm requesting recognition of players who stuck with FFXIV since even its worst times.

We could have given up, moved on to other games, completely forgot about the failure that FFXIV was: but we didn't

Well now there's a way to better represent that than lvl 10 starter items that quickly become obselete in regards to utility yet remain timeless in worth. That new way is Titles and its a great incentive for even new players to work towards.

So implementing this system benefits both parties: veterans get their deserved recognition first and newer players have something to look forward to achieving in the coming years.

Details:
Title grants *could* be determined by something similiar to:

- total hours or days played
- time/date since account was created

-As for the Titles themselves-

The tiers of Titles should reflect the total time FFXIV has been "live".

This will allow players to feel a sense of accomplishment for sticking with your product.

I got the collectors edition, but I only started September of 2011 - do i deserve veteran or collectors title?

Or do you mean only people who have been playing since release?

Or only players who have been in pre pay to play?

or what???

Why do you care to segregate part of the FFXIV community and designate them as "veterans" or "collector" by giving them a rinky dink title? Why not just make the requirement: having had a FFXI account? Or having defeated all FF series in one sitting?

And one more thing: I believe the intention of Moogle weapons was just what you are asking for. According to past officially released information, SE hinted that certain instances and their weapons such as Ifrit and Moogle would be unavailable to players post 2.0

The same can be said for Goobbue Mount for crying out loud! And you want a title on top of that?!

Respond to my previous questions though, maybe it'll help the devs get a clear idea about what you want.

Edit: do you only get this title if you bought the game ahead of time and logged in THE DAY of release? How would this work??

And then, what about those players that got the game during Veteran and CE release, played it while it was free, then quit before pay to play? Do they deserve this achievement too? or is it exclusive only to people who have payed to play?

That's for SE to figure out. I would image they could identify:

- account birthday
- the age of the players account
- if that player is still active account

-As for the time period-
The following groups would get a title:

CE Veteran Title: For still active players that started at CE launch

Veteran Title: Anyone who still plays that started before P2P

That sounds fair right?

There's really nothing unfair or imposing about this. It's a title of gratitude. Better than that shitty Onion Helm i carry around that's completely useless because ive had all 50s for awhile now.

The dev team (possibly YP) did respond to something like this at some point awhile back. Pretty much they said 'it'll be clear who played pre-2.0' Upon which players were making jokes like 'guess we'll be covered in ash' etc. They didn't make it any more clear than this. Now this being said, there is plenty of stuff in game atm we can do that goes away after 2.0. Not only that, but lots of the items/lodestone history we have now will no longer be achieveable post 2.0.

1.Goobue
2.Purple Aytherite Quests
3.You won't start 2.0 as a rank 1 character
4. Possibly some primal weapons like Ifrit/Moogle
5. Possibly some of the dungeons like Darkhold
6. Your achievements/lodestone history
7. And well, you can see how long ANYONE has been playing based on their lodestone history.

Anyway that being said, it'll be BEYOND obvious who played pre-2.0 without any special rewards. I mean, really you don't think the new players will notice that your gear looks a little snazzier than their hempen doublets?
