    Healer job concept: Psychic

    Psychic/Memorist/Mentalist

Based on the Psychic ‘dressphere’ job from FFX-2. With some inspiration form the Memorist job from FFDimensions.
It’s weapon is a ‘Psychic Medium’ a foci that hovers in the hand and splits into two halves in battle, and also comes with a Visor accessory piece ala BRD’s quiver or AST’s card deck.

It’s unique healing gimmick is ‘on hit’ activated bonus healing/mitigation, and it’s job mechanic is the rotation of three modal bonuses, similar to BRD song rotation, but with utility to control them better via Memorise.
It utilises both regens and shields like AST, but to a lesser extent (so more raw healing potency, weaker regen/shielding) and not via strict ‘sects’ so it can vary throughout a battle.
Skills aesthetics are purple psychic auras, and thunder/fire/ice aspected effects.

    Skills

Lv. 1 Telekinesis: Basic DPS skill with a bonus effect based on aspect. (these become available at lv. 30)

Lv. 18 Memorandum: Charged heal, up to 3 charges. Instant 600 potency heal, if used on same target again within 5s, heals for 450, and if again within another 5s, 300 potency.

Lv. 50 Recollect: Bestows the memorised ‘Ward’s bonus effect on the entire party. Shares a 10s recast with Bicameral. Costs 1 Memory.

Lv. 54 Bicameral: Bestows the bonus effects of the two unmemorised ‘Ward’s on the entire party. Shares a 10s recast with Recollect. Costs 2 Memories.

Lv. 58 Resonate: Cast on target party member. When either you or target receive damage, you each receive a 200 potency heal. 12s duration. Effect is removed when 800 potency healing is received.

Lv. 60 Psionic Barrier: AoE field centred on you and moves with you, party members entering gain 10% damage reduction and when taking damage, gain a bonus 10% damage reduction for each hit taken, up to a maximum of 30%. Duration 10s, cooldown 60s.
    (first hit = 10% reduction, 2nd hit = 20% reduction, all successive hits = 30% reduction)

    Lv. 62 Amnesia III

    Lv. 66 Retrocognition III

Lv. 70 Excellence: Bestows the bonus effects of all three ‘Ward’s on target party member. 60s cooldown. Costs 3 Memories.

    Lv. 72 Telekinesis III
Cryokinesis III: Adds a 6s slow
    Pyrokinesis III: Adds 40 potency
Electrokinesis III: Adds a 3s stun

Lv. 74 Apportation: Teleport to the side of target party member. Charged ability with 2 charges.

Lv. 78 Active Recall: Reduces the MP cost of your next x GCD healing spells to zero and allows the use of x Memory skills without expending Memory charges.
Cumulative charged ability, up to 3 charges. (each charge equates to 1 MP free GCD and 1 free Memory skill, all charges are expended upon use)

Lv. 80 Synaptic Unison: Bestow all party members in range with the effect of Resonate. When any party member is dealt damage, all party members under the effect gain a 200 potency heal. 12s duration. Effect is removed when 600 potency healing is received.

    To clarify:
“[element] Eater” is a temporary stance, that grants you the effect of “[element]ward” to Precognition and “[element]kinesis” to your single target DPS spell.
“[element]ward” is an effect bestowed to a target via Precognition when under the correct Eater stance, or via Recollect/Bicameral/Excellence using the Memory gauge.

    Job gauges

Eater/Ward gauge: Two icons, one for an active Eater effect (for Precognition/Telekinesis) and one for the memorised Ward effect (for Recollect/Bicameral/Excellence)
You’re basically juggling a current, active aspect for GCDs (cycled every 20s) and a memorised auxiliary aspect for your Memory oGCDs (refreshed every 60s) which require memory charges…

Memory Gauge: Whenever a ‘ward’ effect is proc’d, you gain a Memory Fragment that lasts for 15s. Successive fragments reset this duration.
When you gain three fragments, you gain a Memory Charge, you can hold up to 3 Charges.

Thunderward is technically the best option here, as for 10s every hit taken heals for 200 potency, whereas the shield/regen of the others doesn’t stack. Of course the ‘downside’ is that it only lasts for those 10s, instead of having a lasting effect for an additional 12s.
But this does make Thunderward the preferred option to Memorise, as you can dump its effect on a Tank for burst healing with Recollect, and Bicameralism then bestows both regen and shield at once.

What do you think? How would this compare to Chemist, Geomancer or... necromancer?

We still have quite a few much more "iconic" jobs that need to be added to the game before we're looking at a FFX-2 dress sphere, buddy.

    You mean Chemist and Geomancer?

Like Time Mage, they may be redundant. Why do you suppose we got a Gunblade tank instead of a Mystic Knight?

They're going to want to implement a healer that compliments those we already have.
Chemist, or some variation of it, could work, but I doubt we'll be getting Conjurer Plus.

    It's not mutually exclusive... -_-

Regarding Mystic Knight if you use the original release FF5 as a point of reference, Mystic Knight is the most vulnerable heavy armor wearing class with lower durability than Dragoon.

I'd definitely like to see chemist/plague doctor.

While it isn't mutually exclusive, adding another variable to achieve balance makes it much more difficult, especially when it would most likely require a different team to design a new class.

Because Astrologian and Gunbreaker are both such iconic jobs in FF lore... >w>
Let the fans (and the devs) have some fun and creative liberty. >w>
