Sorry OP, but you have your options already. It's not SE's fault for you picking a popular server.

To be completely fair, Leviathan was never a congested world until right before ShB's launch. And you can't really fault the OP if they've been on the server for years - it's not like they could have forseen it becoming congested. I never thought Cactuar would become congested when I started 3.5 years ago, but now it is.

If they've been on the server for years, then they'd know that it's right after expansion launch times that you get congestion problems. What further impacts this is that Leviathan has always been in the top three for most populated servers along with Greg and Balmung, so in all honesty, it's more of a surprise that it didn't get locked down sooner.

As for Cactuar, that is slightly more surprising, but not by much given the usual population increase that comes with expansion launches.

I don't believe this is an acceptable solution for a subscription based game. And even if it wasn't. A 30-60 day wait for a purchased and downloaded product is going to try even the most patient.

Exactly. I can’t make a character on his server and he can’t make one on mine. We tried the alt thing months ago but neither one of us wanted to invest in characters we don’t care about. If Leviathan opened at some point between then and now, I couldn’t tell you. We ended up playing a different game.

If they really can’t allow anyone in, then they need to open new servers in the same data center with free transfers for those on the problematic servers, with an option for full FC transfers. I’m sure people would jump at that for the chance at housing alone.

And yet we’re still waiting for it in Twintania and Spriggan..
