    Friend experiencing error on login

Hello my friend who has recently resubscribed and reinstalled the game after deleting it has been running into an unexpected error every time he boots the game and presses play.

I'm making this thread in his place since there is the rule of being unable to make a thread if you haven't logged in for 14 days because of this error he can't log in at all.

After entering his details and pressing the button to launch the game, the launcher goes black and this "An unexpected error has occurred" message pops up.

Link to said error here -> https://imgur.com/a/FbxGNqd

We have tried a couple solutions found online like reinstalling FFXIV and making sure his drivers are up to date.

Thank you for your time and I hope we can sort this out quickly. He is unfortunatly losing sub time as a result of this issue.

(As a side note, why is the error text in Japanese when english was chosen when installing the game? This isn't the main issue of course but just a question.)

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

How long has your friend been experiencing this issue? Were there any programs running in the background at the time of the crash? Could your friend provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
