Healer Melding 5.0: What materia should be used?

I put a tiny drop of piety and spell Speed on ((iirc, you should aim for enough for a 2.42 recast because it helps with dot maintenance )) to a comfortable level. Then stacked crit/dh. I will likely go ahead and replace the dh with det once my static starts progging again.

Mind is a main stat. Every piece of healer gear has it. The higher the ilvl, the more mind you have.

I understand that part. I just wondered why no one was mentioning Mind in what to use when melding, unless they are saying that there is already enough Mind from the gear you get.

Main stats can't be melded.
Gear that is statted for your class already has your main stat maxed out, and even if it didn't for some strange reason they've removed the stats from main stat materia.

Ah, that explains that. So basically it makes no sense to bother with Mind.

So basically, you want enough SpS to drop basic Cure to about 2.42s cast, and at least 20%(25% if possible) crit rate, which is really only becomes important once you hit the current end-game stuff. Piety only if you seem to be running out of mp. Otherwise, Det, Det, and more Det. At least this is what I am sensing here.

This is not how I remember it at all. It was the healers who got sick of tanks leaning too much towards damage and eventually all other jobs jumped on board. A horrible side effect of this, saw the end of HW DRK.

I still do the crit>dh>det for farm but you can also do det>dh. For ultimate prog I've basically stacked as much piety as I could, then did crit>det
