    Turn off Dungeon Boss Music

The dungeons in Shadowbringers are all really fantastic with great styles, themes, and background music. Many of these are also really emotional and add a ton to the atmosphere of the dungeon, but the generic boss theme for the first and second bosses really takes away from that experience, especially in the level 80 story dungeon.

It would be really awesome if we had the option to turn off Boss music in the menu like we can with normal enemies, specifically separating the first and second bosses from the final since there is a difference between a generic boss theme that plays vs the dungeon final boss theme specifically orchestrated for the expansion.

I was against you right up till you specified 1st and 2nd boss generic music. While I still wouldn't turn it off I do agree that music could do with an upgrade.

If you had meant the final boss music, though, ooo boy there would be hell to pay!

If they implemented this option, but it did also turn off the dungeon's final boss theme, I'd just remind myself to turn that option back on after defeating the second boss. It would be annoying, but I'd jump through the hoops to make that happen. Though I would strongly prefer to avoid that scenario.

Nothing worse than getting the amazing Twinning music replaced with arr trash.

Definitely, for the 1st and second bosses, I could go either way for the last boss theme. going through Twinning or *spoiler*and I get to one of them and the generic boss theme starts playing I get taken out of the zone that im in.

I was hoping other people felt the same way. I really enjoyed the dungeon themes and having the old boss music break in during the first and second bosses killed the mood a little, especially on the level 80 MSQ dungeon. I wouldn't mind having an option to remove the first two boss music but keep the third since that one normally seems to fit in pretty well regardless of which dungeon.

Yeah, pretty sure most everyone who plays with in game music on would agree. The ARR dungeon boss fight was good... at the time. It hasn't really aged that well, and its very jarring when the dungeon theme is suddenly interrupted by this theme.

It was fine back in ARR when most dungeons had the same music, but once we reached very late ARR when dungeons started having their own unique theme it no longer really worked. That feeling has only gotten worse over time, as late HW started to pick up on the music quality, SB ran with it and had some brilliant tracks, and now ShB has created some amazing tracks that are both enjoyable to listen to and also very ambient.

Final boss music, though, ever since HW they have been on point with that, with the track not only fitting the general theme of the expansion, but also perfectly capturing the feeling of a truly intense fight against the ultimate foe (of the dungeon)

The music for 1st/2nd boss indeed sucks because.... it's been cut in half, inexplicably. We only get the intro, looped...

This is the full version : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yK3X8su3oI

There is another theme (the "panic" theme
when Crystarium get attacked I think

that's been cut in half and it's ridiculous since it only last 30s instead of 1 min.

The soundtrack of FFXIV is nice, but the "music direction" is next to inexistent (outside of some boss battle, like Nidhogg). The worst offender are cut-scenes where they randomly use and re-use the same basic themes since ARR and don't hesitate to put 2 themes in a < 1 minute cut-scene.....
