    Oh cut it out drama queen. You can't throw a fit when they basically announce more changes are coming. Something tells me nothing sooner than changes the day after release would've made you happy.

    No one's saying you need to wait for patch notes.

    No one's saying you need to try it.

    No one's saying you need to get to level 80.

    Why? Because everyone knows there are problems.

    But you're acting like a crazy Walmart Customer who needs to be taken care of now, and that's just not how the world works.

    You're new here so you don't realise how this works.

    It's not that people are fine with this, it's that we know it's just not coming yet. This first set of adjustment is always more of "this isn't quite what we intended", it's not until after the raid series that we get the "ok, so this isn't working and the players hate this" adjustments.

    There are plenty of people complaining, and it's all the same things, so there's no way SE are going to just flat out ignore it. You just need to be patient.

    And it is 5.05 we're still waiting for, this is 5.01. If 5.05 comes and goes and there's been no adjustments, they've officially missed their deadline.

    It is not that ast is unplayable because it can do all content atm fine, it is that it's undesirable due to having weaker heals, weaker pdps and its card buffs are only good for pad runs (which are unpredictable due to rng \o/), anything else you are better off taking whm/sch due to safety and higher pdps.

    TBH i didn't even think they would lower Gravity mp so small surprise for that, don't expect anything more until 5.05-5.1 at this stage.

    I know I'm whining, but I really just can't play AST as it is NOW. It's awful. I tried levelling it, and just... It's awful. I really don't think anything should've necessarily changed from AST's previous play style. Major Arcana was fine. With the lack of TP, someone else would have to be in its place (even if bole = melee damage and spire = ranged damage as they deigned; they didn't have to turn ALL cards like that). There's no aoe (i.e. Royal Road) effects anymore, either, and guess what? DPS have aoe buffs for the team, so why doesn't AST have aoe buffs? Why don't we have our enhanced buffs, either? As I was lvel grinding I noticed more and more things were missing. It got to be to the point where I just could not play the class, and it was my main/favourite class for the past four years. I had no alternate classes until about a year ago.

    The new AST is a total inefficient joke of a class now. I don't want "new solutions/new compromises," I just want my old class with level 80 skills. Spoilt, I know. I just... can't believe how shitty they were towards healers this round. It hurts, Yoshi P. It hurts not-good.


    Here's hoping 5.05 will have decent class fixes. Fingers crossed.

    i think his point is, astro could use potency and cool down changes.

    while that is true, my take is these changes were not even a potency/cost whatever pass, just a couple tiny things they were willing to put in now. That said, my expectations are not very high

    with the twinning and the 2nd boss of eden out, it can give us some ideas of what could be a good thematic for ast, they seem to be wanting to move away from the time mage bits, but, lightspeed is still there... so ast might as well be the closest thing we have to a time mage and they should embrace it. (light years for stars light to reach us and all that reasoning)

    i am still leveling ast, but the issues are very apparent even early on. (and if anyone with common sense read the tooltips knows where the issues are)

    but like

    you guys DO understand how long things like MCH went... the way they did, correct?
    i'm not trying to be a doomsayer, but this does count as a valid concern
    it isn't even just about "i need this fixed now" or "patience"

    it seemingly takes them years to get around to fixing garbage concepts to something as simple as RNG procs to your basic 123 combo

    -shrug-
    it's just a little disheartening sometimes

    this game has no "specs", you play one class one way the same as everyone else, which is fine, but it seems like that should be more of a reason to not... seem... so... "secondary" when it comes to the pacing of updates and balances for the game overall

    i mean, don't get me wrong, the fights, the story, the.... well, the everything, really, even down to the crafting classes, are all absolutely gorgeous and amazing, that's why i, as well as many others, are subbing to this game, as everything is just so top-notch

    it's just upsetting that the way that we play the actual game every time we log in, seems to have less.... oomph put into it than everything else

    They have a team of four who have to work on every job every expac, every balance patch.

    Look at the Tank and DPS roles, everyone else has their gripes too.

    But if people insist on shouting at the devs even when they announce updates at a later date, why not take that energy and complain about the lack of staff dedicated to job design.

    You know, send the message of: "You need more people to work on this big of a game." rather than "You need to make your small team work faster."

    Healing potencies are fine to me but nocturnal sect is so bad right now. Why don’t they just remove the sects and make neutral sect the standard. Just lower the potencies or the shield and regen and remove the 20% healing buff. Also the shields won’t stack when you have another ast but the regents will. Just my suggestions.
    I like the way you think! -applause- I agree that Divination should proc as soon as you have three seals, seeing as we still have 30 seconds cooldown for Draw and 180 seconds for Sleeve Draw.

    As an Astro main for the past 1-2 years, in ShB, I first felt like I didn't do nearly enough healing like I used to. I almost switched to WHM, but then decided to stick it out. I don't dislike Astro, but in the new raid content Eden, I am now having a hard time giving my team mates that 15 second extra damage buff, be it through a single card or through Divination. I just don't feel like I have the time, cause I have to spam my heals to keep up, as well as juggle Horoscope and keeping a close eye on its timer.

    I still think the job is fun, and I enjoy it (maybe because it is quite tricky to master now, even though it always was in a way) but if suggestions like these came to fruition, I think it would be an absolute blast.
