I agree :/ the cd does feel way too long. I can get all three seals I need in half the time(sometimes less if you have Sleeve Draw up..). I think that it feels cool to use but only until you break down the buff + cooldownIt's kind of sad that Summoners get Devotion, which is a simple button press that gives a 5% damage up buff for 15 seconds on a 180s CD. When as an AST you have to get the three proper seals to get a 6% damage up buff for 15 seconds which is also on a 180s CD. Divination just feels bad in general.
Why can’t the many different combo of seals equate to many different effects? Or bonus effects?
Three moon seals equals mp regen for 15 seconds party wide
Three sun seals equal atk speed increase party wide
Three star seals equal equal random stat increase for 15 seconds
Star moon sun equals atk power increase
Etc... that brings back complexity right?
We all trying to salvage this mess of a change, I wish they would just bring back SB AST (it was perfect) with the new spells added and if balance was so much of a trouble make it 3% and hell 1% on RR, f*** Balance card if that was so much of a problem.
I would even take SB back without RR and that Divination is the only way to make a card party wide full effect.
Nu AST, personally ofc, doesn't feel rewarding, it is not empowering, new card system is not engaging and what used to be one of our favorite skills: Sleeve Draw is clumsy and I just dislike using it, and it is a shame because I really love Celestial Intersection, Horoscope and Neutral Sect.

Minus Ewer and Spire which honestly wouldn't serve any purpose with today's game balance. As far as I have seen no job really has any struggles with MP.
We have to look what is coming in 6 days.^^
So long:

Astrologers do. We can use it on ourselves.
I mean, Divination is literally a RR Balance with 2 min cd because...reasons, If "people are only fishing for balance" then they could've easily redesign that one card (and Spire because RIP TP) and bake it into Divination while leaving the rest as they were - fishing for seals didn't change a thing.
Speaking of Divination, it should have the cd reduced or made into a proc because it's too long for too little gain.
The mechanic isn't trashy. SB cards were about seeking to twist the Fates in a way to get you an advantage. Any card was better than no card, and still is. The ShB cards suck rocks into orbit through a straw, but for both versions playing a card is better than not (Undraw).
Just because something is sub-optimal doesn't mean it's trash. I want the 4.0 card system back though.

Ewer does have purpose with todays game balance, especially since AST has the worst MP management out of all the healers even more so with Noct Ast having to spend 10% of its MP to throw up a shield that gets shredded easily.
Spire would need to be reworked, but people always called for spire to be reworked because it was too niche.
It also adds an extra step to any draws after you get your three seals because you have to convert all of them into minor arcana before playing them, or you risk getting stuck with a bad Divination later.I mean, Divination is literally a RR Balance with 2 min cd because...reasons, If "people are only fishing for balance" then they could've easily redesign that one card (and Spire because RIP TP) and bake it into Divination while leaving the rest as they were - fishing for seals didn't change a thing.
