Summoner Battle Pet No Longer In Party List

[EDIT: The devs added the battle pet back to the party list in 5.1. It's informational only—you can't click it—but that's exactly what I was hoping for.]

My main is a summoner. Until the 5.0 patch, my battle pet would appear in the party list, sort of like how everyone's chocobo companion appears there. If I was solo, I'd have both the chocobo and my battle pet in the party list. In duties, my battle pet would appear at the bottom, so I could quickly see its status.

But with the 5.0 update, my battle pet no longer appears in either of those party lists.

I've checked the settings in Character Configuration > UI Settings > Party List and don't see any way of enabling/disabling battle pets. I've pretty much looked through every single option in Character Configuration, and don't see anything there.

I've checked the settings in HUD Layout > Party List and didn't see anything there either.

I've right-clicked my battle pet. Nothing there.

I even checked the nameplate settings.

I've done lots of Google searches, to no avail.

How do I get my battle pet back into the party list?

You cannot, it was removed with patch 5.0. Pets no longer appear in the party list nor can they be targeted during combat, although they are invincible now so it's not like you need to heal them or anything.

Just read the patch notes. Not sure why that never came up on a web search.

So that party list entry included some good information besides HP. Specifically an icon showing the current mode of my pet (Sic, Steady, Guard, Stay, etc.), as well as its cast bar. Is there some other way to display that information? Focus Target doesn't seem to do it, and nameplates require me to be able to see the pet itself, which is often not the case.

Currently there is no information active in combat on whether you have a pet or it's stance other than literally looking and seeing how is acting, which can be difficult in situations with lots of effects/enemies etc. There is a setting in the options to turn on the pet nametag during battle, but for some reason this doesn't actually seem to work which is kinda silly.

Although the pets don't need casting bars as everything is instant now, it would be nice to have icons in the status buff UI so we have that visual awareness, same with SCH. Quite a number of players have raised this so hopefully SE are listening and will be adding something to assist the two jobs in a later patch.

Truthfully, they need to fix this. I get them not having HP to show, but it's a bit difficult to notice if you have a pet out of not when things get crazy. And god forbid you place them and dont use heel. This is more of an issue with SCH but it can effect both.

I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

This will let you see your pet's name in battle, but it won't make it appear on the party list. Better, but not fixed.

But only if you have the appropriate setting here:

And while you're there, make sure the font color for your pets' names (light blue in Rongway's example image) is set to something that will stand out better than the default off-white that looks just like all the other off-whites. If it's a color you can spot even in the midst of chaos, you'll have an easier time finding and identifying your pet.

Took myself into the level 71 dungeon last night and was paranoid I didn't have Eos summoned because of this :P

We had them visible for so long the change is certainly something to get used to.

These jobs already have two job gauges, so adding a third to identify which (if any) pet is summoned seems excessive, but if SE doesn't want to put them back in the party list, it would certainly beat not having any indication of them.
