Is it still possible to use PS3 game codes?

Looked it up after & with the end of PS3 support when SB EA started there was a Upgrade Campaign from then until the end of 2017: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...06d20c1826d455
Chances are slim but would be nice if it was extended indefinitely & is still possible, otherwise it's a waste to buy a PS3 copy unless it's a collector that buys it & keeps it unopened, or maybe the DLC codes (Baron Circlet & Baron Earrings & Chocobo Chick Courier) could still be used? Was thinking of getting ARR+HW for PS4 as I still have my ARR code from Amazon/Twitch Prime & I received a free HW code in a email so was thinking of giving the codes + a PS4 copy to my brother so he could play with me when he has time/in the mood to play games.

Well, if they are preorder codes those are long expired (for the items), if they are collectors edition codes, those are not separate from the game codes and can't be redeemed separately.
