If you don't know, this time for 5.0 players who do not complete Crystal Tower storyline will have a chance to see the CT Story options for 5.0 even if they complete 5.0 before CT story is complete by rewatching the cutscenes in Inn room.

So if players did not complete CT storyline and played through 5.0, thus missing the extra dialogue options, players can complete CT Raid story after and rewatch cutscenes in their Inn room to see the CT story version of the 5.0 cutscenes though the CT story exclusive dialogue options in 5.0.

(Strongly advised for those who missed out on the CT 5.0 dialogue options because the CT story 5.0 dialogue options are the best dialogue paths)

Yeah I'm /really/ glad they did this. I beat those raids years ago but when I wanted to rewatch the cutscenes in the inn-room I noticed that the toggle was present and was positively charmed by their willingness to cut those who didn't jump into old content before starting 5.0 some slack. It's also nice in reverse. If you want to see how different things are pre raid but already finished them, you can.

I really, really hope they do this for more expansions. It's such nice little touches that make the world more personal for the player but also don't punish said player if they want to do things at their own pace.

Ya if SE keeps things this way, it gives players the option to experience the two versions of the storyline and for future MSQ.

However, you still need some self awareness to know which dialogue is the exclusive unlock dialogues.

Something I do want to test (if I make yet another alt sometime) is what dialogue you get for starting the Crystal Tower questline but leaving it half-finished! Not just for this, but for Nero's first MSQ reappearance - proposing the use of Omega in pre-Stormblood - Cid has different remarks depending on your CT progression. So I can watch the scene with it fully done or fully not-done, but what I do want to see is Cid's reaction if you left WoD uncleared and Nero stuck in the rift!

Shadowbringers could be similarly interesting since...

At that point you're going to recognise G'raha but not understand how he ended up in control of the Tower or know that he got sealed inside it. So the option to call his name might exist, but ending dialogue would be different.

In this perspective, it allows players to choose what version of the storyline they wish to experience via Dialogue options and return to see the other Dialogue paths as well.

That's always how optional dialogue works, though?

Also there should be at least some "inbetween" dialogue options for Shadowbringers - I watched the default version of the "secret chamber" cutscene and he says that the WoL hasn't met him in the CT storyline yet. That would be inaccurate for someone who has started CT, so unless it's an oversight, there should be a third dialogue option that reflects the player having met him but not completed the story.

Assuming it exists, you'd never be able to get it from the cutscene viewer as your only options are your current state of quest progression (likely 100%) or the default (0%). You can't get it to play the "50% progress" dialogue unless you're actually at that point.

There are a number of quests that work this way, possibly with multiple variables depending on your progress. One you can see in action (as it's in text form) is here: Alisaie's reintroduction to the group in 3.4, where Alphinaud and Alisaie have three or four different script options depending on how much of the Binding Coil you've completed.
