Lack of side quests

I'm not sure about the rest of you guys, but I know it took every side quest available this xpac just to hit Max level. So now I have no side quests for my alt jobs. Was it meant to be like this? I don't remember any of the other xpacs doing this. I literally have no quests left at all.

This has been a thing since ARR at least for me
ARR: outside the starting cities, i barely had enough to hit level 47. Insert fate and dungeon grind to get to 50 on one job
HW: just enough to hit 59, cue dungeon grind to hit 60
SB: just enough side quests to get into 69, cue dungeon grind
ShB: literally just the right amount of of side quests to hit max level with a little fate grinding in each zone to help things along (thank you for the new fate system making them relevant to do).

Now as of the release of this expansion you might be able to get away with saving stuff from HW and some of SB sides to level alts what with the plethora of sides they added with patches. But typically is the norm that with an expansion that they give you just enough to make leveling one jib not seem like a chore

I still have a ton of side quests from all 3 I haven't done. This is the first time I have ever ran out.

It also comes down to, when you came up through content. If you came up after content got exp buffs due to expansions then yeah, excess sidewuests you dont need to do to hit max. Especially with the excessive amount of msq and optional dungeons, raids, and trials being added over the life of an expansion

The only time i had sidequests left over for another class was the 3 city states during ARR lifetime and those only barely got me to 15 on 2 other jobs.

Did you like... not run any daily roulettes, FATES, repeat level-appropriate dungeons, or anything else that gives exp? If so, well, that's a problem of your own making.

I have one job to 80 and another at 77, and I haven't touched a single sidequest other than the ones that award aethercurrents.

This is a clear sign you don't run roulette. Trials, Leveling, and Alliance get you a full level everyday regardless of your level since it scales. I have only run the side quests required to get flying and I have almost two classes at 80. Side quests are better done helping get your classes from 70-71 so you can start doing dungeons. If your looking for ways to level remember you need 66 fates completed in each area to unlock the shared fate rewards.

Doing side quests is the most in-efficient way to level.
They are really only there for lore/achievement/item reasons.

Use Fates and Roulettes to level up your alts.

I never did any roulettes, only did each dungeon once, only did fates for riding maps and achievements, and still had to stop doing the side-quests when I got to rak'tika because I was outpacing the MSQ levels. Got to Grenoldt at 79 and just did a handful of sidequests plus hunt bills to hit 80 at that point. Not sure how you ran out. Did you do the role quests (required for the MSQ anyways)? Have you been hitting sightseeing log spots and filling out the maps? Have you been doing the hunt bills and beast tribe quests each day? The new hunt bills give huge exp, and the old bills and beast tribes still give quite a few million exp each day for little work.

Same issue. I do every side quest and then am a little less than 1/4 from leveling and have to do hunts and fates...annoying really. And no, I hate dungeons so I do not do roulettes, filthy casual here
