Going off the lodestone profile listed here, if it's the same one you're using, your chest piece is in desperate need of upgrading. Couldn't hurt to upgrade your lower ring, too. Would be a good place to start.

Hasrat is right that a better shirt would give you a boost, but as this is a patch 4.1 quest the i290 youre wearing now isnt that far off from what we had at the time. Im guessing(since you didnt specify) that youre struggling with the part of the fight where you have to intercept the orbs that the primal is firing off. So some tips. You can assign the duty action to your hotbar/keybind it in a way to make it easier to cast in a hurry(do this before the fight by finding duty action on the general commands action list - you can unbind it after the fight when youre done with it). For this fight it can be used while moving, so dont think you need to stop to fire it off. It creates a sphere around you that negates any primal bullets it hits - take advantage of the fact that this can take out projectiles both in front of and behind you. Get multiple orbs with your bubble whenever you can. Other npcs with the echo will try to help stop the shots, but theyre slow and shouldnt be relied on for too much. Once this portion of the fight starts, dont bother trying to put out any damage(i honestly dont remember if shes even targettable, but dont bother if she is). You just need to make it through a certain number of projectile waves for the next phase of the fight to start(which is a more straight-forward fighting phase). Obviously use sprint if you need it. There isnt a magic bullet to get through that part of the fight, its just a bit of quick reacting and using your echo-block as well as you can.

If this isnt what you were stuck on, feel free to elaborate on the question and a better answer could be forthcoming.

F.Y.I. You don't need to target the orbs, just need to be close.
Once I realized this I was able to beat it.
