I did state, it was what I heard and never claimed it as fact. But ty for letting me know.
There are lots of things that cause death:
Tanks over pulling. Tanks not using their CD's properly (Don't forget about arm's length!)
DPS not doing enough DPS to kill mobs fast enough. DPS not using their self heals so healers can focus on these tanks who need more attention.
Healers not using their CD's optimally
Had a run the other day in Amourot (SCH) where the tank said I kept him alive better than a WHM. It's all about group efforts and using you abilities properly.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
It happens, yeah.
I think the problem is if people only play DPS classes they don't really appreciate that if they make a mistake they get ressed.
If the healer makes a mistake (which of course can happen) the whole thing can unravel quickly sometimes.
Truth. And it is one of the things that I think puts off some potential healers and tanks. Mistakes happen, but if you make them as a tank or healer, the problem is a lot more apparent. But we all make them, especially when learning them. It is frustrating, but it’s all a part of the learning process and simply being human.
Healers cover up other people’s mistakes, but nobody covers up theirs.

I think people misunderstood the changes to healers. Their goal wasn't to make healers dps less; it was to make everyone's (healers included) dps rotations simpler. That's all.
I’ve never understood this debate. If you have the options of being idle, or being active, who would ever choose being idle?
Healers don’t seem to realize what a decent CPM is in this game, and think that moderate breaks between actions is fine. That’s the different between exceptional and average healers. Your GCD should always be spinning and your cooldowns should always be in rotation. If there is a time where healing isn’t required, keep your GCD moving with DPS, instead of using more healing that isn’t required to clear. It’s literally that simple.
