Being able to summon a dragon, and then draw it into yourself to increase your strength or defense would be cool. And while wielding a scythe? Count me in.

Congrats. You just found out what the next limited Job is.
Beastmaster.
Lulz.
But we aren't those franchises. FF's Beastmaster is usually archery oriented with pets that you catch in the wild and use as attacks.
No, no it isn't. If anything Whips are more associated as a weapon for them with most FF's I'm seeing not using Bows at all. Including FFXI which uses melee weapons.
Told my FC mates BST confirmed, after fighting Ranjit couple of times. lol.
Id call it something different. Like Dragonmancer or Channeler. Id rather have a more traditional Beastmaster that uses a ranged weapon like a crossbow. Square Enix has a chance with a unique job that we haven't seen before, and I'd rather they not waste it. A couple more pet jobs would be cool. Also for heavens sake no more limited jobs.
XIV has had impact on Square Enix. Just look at Octopath Traveler. Astrologian showed up in the game as Starseer. It also showed up in Bravely Second. XIV Is a great playground for new ideas that could breathe life into Square Enix games. A dragon oriented pet job would be a fun mainstay.
