AVERAGE potency. You do not do 880 potency in one GCD, you have to do 3 GCDs to get to that total. So you average it out, it comes to 293.3, with inner beast beating it while only costing one GCD.

This is exactly how every comboless GCD is balanced.

Maybe this will make it easier to understand: Eye/Path potency is 380, right? You don't just slam the Path button and get 380 potency, you build up to it by doing 200 potency first, then 300 potency, then finally 380 potency. This is why you average them out, and why Inner Beast's 350 potency is more than fine. Hell, it was fine even when it was 300 in the past.

Except when the potency averages and totals are lower than the other tanks. Comparing combo average to a singe gcd doesn’t work because it is out of context. Not to mention war doesn’t have any oGCD at lvl 50 and below.

Even fflogs are out of context for comparing dps. The top 95th percentile are more often than not, padded. Thanks dnc.

Comparing average potency makes absolute sense when you're specifically complaining about Inner Beasts potency. This has nothing to do with their numbers overall; you said IB potency doesn't make sense because 350 is lower than 380, and I explained to you why you don't understand comparing average potency to 1 GCD.

Inner Beast a DPS increase. Fact. Fullstop.

Now whether or not they need buffs elsewhere isn't something I particularly care about, I was just addressing one point you made so you have better context on balance, because if you don't know how to compare average potencies then you probably should get a handle on that first before throwing your opinion out there.
