Gear for Gathering White Scrips ?

If you are melding gear, why not meld the level 80 gathering gear? There is a set between the unmeldable scrip gear, and the 76 gear, that you can meld with higher gathering/perception/GP caps.

Fully melded, that level 80 gear is better than the scrip gear.

I'm using all lvl 80 accy HQ and the lvl 77ish store bought Gather's gear all melded with perc / gath.

I'm unable to hit the 470 mark, it's landing around 405ish.

Using Perc / GP food.

I'm sure to be missing something blatantly obvious,

Get the L 80 set, don't know if it is available from NPCs.

I am in all HQ crafted 80s, everything max melded save tools which only have GPs. G 2088, P 2058, GPs 831.

Last time I used scrip gear was HW, the tools and chest peices were worth it for a while. Looks to be the same for ShB.
