This. SE won't give any new servers until Crystal is filled to bursting either, it makes no sense for them to increase capacity for one data center when another has a glut of preferred worlds.

SE knows the biggest mistake to make is invest in infrastructure right after a launch in panic. Most players will leave and we'll be back to our sub 1 million active players in no time. Do not worry.

Right now EVERY server is locked so nobody can create a character on ANY server. ALL servers has been locked during prime time all week. EVERY server on Aether has been locked 24 hours a day for weeks. Japan has less overall population than NA and they have more servers per data center than we do. If they add one server to each data center we will still have fewer data centers than Japan.

For knowing that expanding the infrastructure right now could be detrimental financially on a long term strategy? I thought it was common knowledge. Wildstar got caught in that Kotor and WoW as well. The temptation is strong but you need to keep a cool head even in times of success.
