It's hilarious, and troubling, that some people think this game is even remotely threatening Blizzard or WoW. Fanboy trash aside, this game is niche by comparison. Amazing how easily some people can be mislead and misinformed, especially in this day and age.

Well last I checked, and heard, is that FFXIV is at 14 million active accounts (which explains why all of NA is locked out of character creation, half of JP is locked out, and EU has some troubles) and WoW has only around 2 million left based on active character counts when it is unknown exactly how many characters there are per player. It's hilarious, and troubling, that some people think this game is even remotely threatening Blizzard or WoW. In fact Blizzard plans their content releases for WoW around FFXIV and have done so for years. Even WoW's 8.2 patch release was put 3 days before ShB early access to try to shore up for the impact of ShB launch. That is not something a company does unless they feel threatened by a competitor.
Honestly it feels more the other way around, WoW is not even really a threat to FFXIV anymore.

I agree with this response.Well last I checked, and heard, is that FFXIV is at 14 million active accounts (which explains why all of NA is locked out of character creation, half of JP is locked out, and EU has some troubles) and WoW has only around 2 million left based on active character counts when it is unknown exactly how many characters there are per player.
