" The issue here is that now DRK needs to be MT in order to to max damage. This is also not a good design. "
...no? Why? Why is it?

I won't repeat what TouchandFeel said above because those are my thoughts exactly. I will say something that kind of reiterates what I already said in my post though: TBN it is NOT in direct opposition to Edge/Flood. It is only if you misuse it, which isn't likely once you get the feeling of how much damage is coming - that is, your only duty as a tank aside from bashing the enemy and keeping it turned away from the party. You strip that and you get the only (laughable) challenge out of the job. Not even a clunky one at that.TBN is the only defensive ability (belonging to tanks) in the game that is in direct opposition to offensive skills. The TBN shield may be awesome, but losing 500 potency when it doesn't pop is just garbage. Easiest way to fix TBN is as follows:
Remove the mana cost on TBN, remove Dark Arts entirely, and increase the TBN CD to 25 seconds. This will eliminate the issues with TBN being a damage loss when the shield does not break, while also bringing it in line with other short CD tank abilities (Shelltron, Raw Intuition, and Heart of Stone)
Also, give Dark Mind a 10% physical damage reduction in addition to the 20% magical. This one is obvious........

Not taking names but I see a lot of people in the who isn`t even lv 80 drk trying to change the class.
It is almost as funny as the people with gray parses saying the tanks have being "dumbed down"

Sorry, unclear question.
What I meant was: "Why does DRK need to be MT in order to deal max damage", exactly? Because TBN can be used on anyone, if it needs to be used at all - you can just not use it if you feel it's hindering your DPS (which it shouldn't, if used in its intended use: burst damage, not sustained damage). There are no other skills working on damage received that concern even remotely DPS on DRK.

You got it right, that is why you need to filter out what you read in this forum. A lot of people talk nonsense without knowing the job.Sorry, unclear question.

Uh... We've been making this argument about TBN since it was introduced.

If you are using TBN and it's not breaking, we shouldn't blame the skill, we should blame the bad player who used it at the wrong time. A lot of people in this thread who don't know when and how to use a skill.
You should know the fight, you should know when you need to have 3000mp available because something is going to break TBN.
Like, if TBN isn't going to break then why do you even need to use it at that stage. The only time TBN is a dps loss is if a bad player is using it.

So you never missed a TBN in your life?If you are using TBN and it's not breaking, we shouldn't blame the skill, we should blame the bad player who used it at the wrong time. A lot of people in this thread who don't know when and how to use a skill.

Nope, not saying that. Nobody is perfect, but we aren't talking about missing TBN. I know when to use TBN, if I miss it because I've made a mistake then I need to improve my timings.
We are talking about people who are using TBN willy nilly and then complaining about it not breaking.
And when there's literally no point in the instance capable of dealing 25% of the DRK's HP in 7 seconds short of the DRK jumping into avoidable AoEs?
