Are you kidding me? The devs jobs are to foresee issues like this. It is their job to create an experience that offers the best possible delivery of content that allows for the most cohesive grouping of players. Tanaka failed at doing it in XI. Yoshida-san is doing a much better job with XIV.

There is also no way to be "ready" for a party when you don't even know for certain where it is going to be. If there are multiple camps available in a level bracket, there is no way to be "ready." There is no logic to that statement, and I'm pretty sure you know that. You're just trying to be difficult.

It seems like you are just looking for any reason, no matter how flimsy, in order to support your nostalgia induced argument. However, whether you accept it or not, the "old ways" are dead. There are no plans to go back to them. Pine for them endlessly or move on. It's your choice.

I dont have time to explore the game.
Exploring should be an option, not mandatory.
    Cut the crap.

The problem with anima is there are people who want to be immersed and not tele everywhere. These same people want everyone else to be immersed with them even against their will. I know people who have gotten every ath and they said they had fun doing it. It was all about the exploration. Thats not my cup of tea and while im glad they had fun, I'm glad I didn't have to do it.

That party argument is invalid, since once expansion packs come out, there will be players that don't own certain areas, and won't be ready for all parties. Same used to apply in ffxi, I remember writing which teleports I had or hadn't.

Also it's all about being fun, is making this experience worth living and remembering. I mean, yes, just give let me use anima to get ifrit weapons, just because you like to do a fight 20 times to get one or two weapons, I do not. Also, I want a button to make all my gear +1, and with 99 materia IV melded into it. Also an attack that kills all mobs in one hit.

Obviously exageration but get the point. A game has to have certain elements to it, I challenge any of you to point on offline game that lets you teleport to wherever you want or please. I won't talk about mmorpgs because I've only played about 3, but all of them had restrictions of some sort, ffxiv has none.
And yeah, you have to chocobo to the nodes, but no one even wastes anima porting to something that's 45seconds away from camp.
"hey I'm a level 1 in mor dhona, but that's ok, because I'd still have to walk to the ???."

If anything make level restrictions, can only get teleported to only towns when you're level 15, or have reached it by walking. Mor dhona at 45, or walking.

Actually it's to demonstrate how idiotic it is to tell someone to stop fighting for the right to have the game play the way they feel it would be enjoyable. I may not agree with everything anyone sais but I never shoot them down for having their own ideas.

It would be idiotic for people to accept "Status quo" in anything, if people don't voice out how they feel about a subject it will never be an issue to anyone. Will they change anima? Who knows but the point is people are free to "Whine" about it wether you want it or not.

Ah, but will facing north-by-northeast at 2:45 a.m. while the moon is a waning crescent result in a 27% increase in your chances to synthesize HQ mythril ingots!? That is real the question! ~Fernehalwes~

No, it was in incredibably bad taste, and the arguement being put forward isn't fighting the "status quo" it is trying to impose the will of one group on another because "they know what's best for them"

Offline games and even modern RPG's are fairly linear nowadays and an offline game has more content and areas with an end goal this doesn't so comparing an MMO to offline is irrelevant. If you were playing any offline RPG with no end goal and you had to run around the same game forever you'd tire of it. This new content is 60% padding and don't get me wrong the dungeon stuff and end fights are fun. The rest of it that is all it is the idea that even the gear part of the quests is to go to Mor Dhona to walk in a cave and touch a box proves that. Why is there no fights? you want me to walk to these places and "explore" then give me a reason other than to touch a box in a cave.

I agree with level restrictions and making the player first have to touch the crystal is fine. If a said person wants a high level to walk them to it then so be it that is their choice. Make requirements, make it so you need to touch every crystal in an area to make the option available for the area or something. Maybe you need to have 1 50 class as well by then you should have seen most of the game. Even if you had to buy a pass for high amount of marks making going out and earning that part of your exploring is fine.

If you are someone who like RP'ing or not and wanna run everywhere and that makes you happy then nothing changes for you. Perfect example today 3 of us are at Iron Lake and another fellow LS member was asking for help on a quest in Gridania but none of use had anima (not many do because of the content) so we had run 5 minutes to Limsa airship and of course it was leaving so we had to wait around for the next one, then in grid had to run another 5 minutes to the spot and we wasted almost 25 minutes to go help with a 5 minute quest it's ridiculous.

Honestly, you people need to realize the reason why this game has no content is because you players who DEMAND instantaneous means to reach every place, are the same who DEMAND the best weapons in the game while being casual players, and DEMAND DEMAND DEMAND. You keep crying everything is too hard, honestly, I thank god they did AF quests too easy, now even casual players are complaining, and maybe it will open squares' eyes.

Spoonfeeding is what square knows this community of whiners and cry babies want, and it keeps providing that, instead of providing what it needs, content, stuff that's hard to do. Stuff that needs an investment of a lot of time.

I 100% agree, harder content is something this game really lacks. Stuff that takes more time to complete. Hope AF weapons are really hard to get.
But, more anima or completely abolishing that would mean people would stop walking at all. Do you do crafting leves? If so, you will understand why you can't just port wherever you please. I honestly think the anima cost is fine as it is, I in no way want it lowered nor raised. I don't want to teleport everywhere, that would feel cheap and would be too easy (and TOO FAST). Nor do I want to not be able to have to walk everytime I have to go somewhere.

It's ok to have manage your anima. I always had 40 anima points stored for emergencies, and never let me go under that unless something important came up.

Anyway, this anima topic is not what this thread is about, and altering it slightly wouldn't really change much. People who whine they're always out of anima would complain they were still out of anima, because it is more of a fault in the way those players manage their anima than anything.

But I am viewing this from the standpoint of being a new player with other new players...not the current community who has everything done already. If you have lots of new players to explore with and do this with it could be fun.
I agree with what you are saying. It still remains a choice. I personally walked to every crystal when i started this game because i wanted to explore. The focus for people that started in the past few months seems to be to hit lvl 50 in all DOW/DOM as fast as possible.

All I am saying is removing the anima will only make things worse. I chose to walk to crystals even though i could have teleported.
