Not just 14... like I mention before.. light and dark are never flat out good or evil in Square games. It's mostly always elements. I find THAT to be more rewarding and fun to see then the tired and old way of - light is good- and dark is evil crap most western media is known for. I like the element theme much better as it's fresh.

Also, I noticed a lot of people falling into the trap of thinking that Dark = Evil, when it's been explained almost ad nauseum at this point that neither Light nor Dark is inherently bad by themselves, but too much of either causes bad things to happen.
There was also the part of 4.1 when Fordola's Resonance gave her a vision of the WoL's career and it made her keel over while holding her head, asking how we could handle it.

Yes but my point is the WoL didn't get PTSD from the battle at Ghimlyt Dark due to some horrible occurrence, which is what the trailer alludes to.

How did you get that from the trailer? The WoL was bloody, broken, and alone by the time 4.56 happened(and from dialogue options, it's probably the most consistently pissed the WoL's been), which lines up with the cinematic. The only odd part is the nicked Yoshimitsu, which just makes me think they were considering killing off Yugiri when the cinematic team was working on it.

WoL didn't get PTSD from the battle at Ghimlyt Dark because they've had PTSD since ARR (looong before that if you've had your character since 1.0). If you're wondering why they didn't have an episode during Ghimlyt, it's because they were already locked into combat mode, which has been their wheelhouse since they became the WoL. Triggers for post traumatic stress aren't always as consistent as you think they are for a lot of people and they're different for every person.

(Source: I'm a child of two Iraq War veterans with PTSD. That and it was part of my job while in the military to research this topic.)

She should probably stay away from the WoL from now on considering the arc of Shadowbringers was no less traumatic than the crap they already dealt with. WoL's seen some s**t.

But...Where was it implied that Ghimlyt Dark was where we started having issues. After beating the story, it's fairly obvious where that part of the trailer represents, but there's not a direct line between "Fight with Zenos" and "Wandering around with PTSD." A lot of the trailer was clearly taken out of context, but nothing was directly mentioned. Heck, we didn't even *win* that particular fight in the story, remember?

I don't think he was "wandering around with PTSD" in the trailer. He was lost in a wasteland (that we never actually visted in-game) and having particularly constant Echo-flashbacks of his past deeds. Something was 'wrong' but it seemed more external.

My understanding was that somehow our defeat of Zenos/Elidibus set history on a path towards a Flood of Light, and we were seeing him in the aftermath of that.

Overall the trailer/promotions gave the impression we'd be drawing on the power of Darkness to fight the Light, but we never did. Just defeated some Light-aspected monsters by neutral methods and used our Warrior of Light powers to contain their essences.

There was a warrior of darkness, which was you. IF you played the whole of the new expansion. Especially since Arbert is actually you, but split. Also, the story is not over, this is probably just the start of shadow bringers so just chill for more to come
and maybe we'll actually become that which you seek.

Wasn't it FF1 or 2 or 3 where the Warriors of Light team up with the Warriors of Darkness who weren't evil at all but from a place where the Light and Dark were reversed?

Why did people think we'd be evil? We're just doing the opposite of what we usually do...

3 was the first time Warriors of Darkness appeared, and I think that's the only other numbered game they've appeared in. A lot of people seemingly know very little about 3, which is a damn shame because of how much groundwork it laid for the rest of the series and because of how great the score is.
