They destroyed their own world and tried to destroy another. It doesn't matter the perspective, they were "bad" guys. Any "greater good" accomplished from genocide will inevitable be drowned out by evil. They never said anything about us being anything typically "evil" or "bad" though. Light and dark, good and bad, it's all subjective.
From the 3.4 Warriors of Darkness' point of view, they were the good guys trying to save their own world. Had to do some bad stuff in the process, but it was ultimately for the greater good.
They destroyed their world by trying to save it. Basically what we were doing in the source. Fighting all the darkness.
They too were WoL, just like us. Doing the same thing.
The key difference between us is that we didn't go into their world trying to murderize the innocent.
Alright, this isn't reality. Now we're in the territory of "but in real life". It's a game. They made a mistake, and they didn't actually murder anyone, they were just killing primals (and beast men) . A lot like we were in fact.

That wasn't how it played out at all, though. They were the good guys - they did everything they were supposed to and it still wasn't enough.
