    To more veteran PVPers:

    I have a question for all of you. If you had full control over the development of the PVP portion of this game what would you change? What do you think would best benefit the existing community, draw in newer people, and maybe even fix the issues present in the current iteration of PVP?

    You'd need to uproot all aspects of it. The reputation of the mode to the common pleb is that it's full of boosters and wintraders, something like this would need a redisgn from the ground up with a better moderation menu and example.

    For one, I'd be fine with a month wait on rewards at the end of a season if it meant GMs checked every single top 100 account for boost, pilots or wintrades. But the logistics of this would cost thousands...

    Again, similar to above, but the way servers work, a piece of cc or a cast is RNG on whether not it will go through on the last possible moment you need to go through. In a normal competitive game this is super important and would be borderline unplayable otherwise, but it's something we put up with. Again, the game would need to fundamentally change for this to happen so, this is unlikely.

    But with full control and unlimited resource I'd do those two things first.

    Second would be a ranked pvp mode that doesn't use the medal system in basically any way. Hell I'd copy tf2/OWs and it'd be good

    Uh basically be NOTHING like it is now in 5.0

    Change wise, If they want a real PVP experience they'd revert every PVP change ever made to it all the way back to when PVP was first released and start over again.

    This is absolutely one of those "Need to go backwards to go forward" situations.

    Design it so the PvP skills are the same as the PvE skills. Not make PvP a mini-game of PvE. In this game however, it's a practical impossibility. No way they'll redesign all PvE skills to be "PvP friendly".

    How I would omprove it as is... I think adding more dps skills to healers was a mistake. I've seen plenty of newbie healers dpsing instead of healing. That won't work in burst heavy PvP.

    Another mistake was to remove tank stances (they did remove 'em right? short time memory xP).

    Tanks aren't dps. Healers aren't dps.

    Also "smart" PvPers don't attacks tanks in skirmishes (why do peeps continously mark the tanks smh). Tanks should have more ways to provoke dps. How it could be done is another question.

    Seperating the PVP skills from the PVE skills is like their greatest achievement so far. Otherwise, PVP will always be crud because they aren't going to mess up raids for the sake of PVP.

    I'd add some sort of Hall of the Novice equivalent for pvp. Nothing that really goes into whatever the meta is (because that can easily change) but a tutorial that explains concepts like medals, burst damage, line of sight etc.

    That and I'd make it so that pvp would be a viable method to get pve gear. Doesn't have to be the best in the game, but a way for players to progress.

    Going back to PvP 3.56 with PvE Skills and Special PvP. I missed the PvP Skills.

    PvP5.00 is the worst PvP because they remove self-healing and sprint (except for melee, but why only melee ?).

    SE shouldn't be so scared to add up to 3-5 more skills to PvP. Imagine being able to use almost all of the role specific additionals atm, make sprint available for every class (this would be a godsend for frontlines). And improve tank cc and survivability. Buff other healers to same lvl of astro, maybe consider introducing an aoe heal again. And on top of that you can do all the balance changes like every other patch aka what we had the last years a) replace skill A for B and b) increase/decrease potency of Skill X. Just get the groundwork done before.
    Feast Chat restriction is still a thing too, I doubt its necessary and would be fun I think.

    Light Party Feast has to be only queueable at specific times a day, maybe one static time a day, like prime time of each dc, and one variable time constantly changing over the week. You could have 4hrs from 6-10pm as static time, and a changing pattern 2-6am , 6-10am, 10-2pm, 2-6pm, 10-2am during the week. Easiest way to deal with wintrader and make it possible for every team to play, even at unorthodox times.

    Everything you need to know about how PVP is addressed in this game's design is encapsulated in that their solution to people being toxic in Feast was to remove the ability to communicate in Feast outside a handful of very generic messages.

    Anything that's seen as a problem gets turned off or dumbed down because PVP is not the focus of development. Which, if that's how they want it to be, fine. But no meaningful change for the better to PVP can happen so long as this is the case.
