    Materia VI stronger than Materia VII

    Materia VI gives +40 yet Materia VII gives +20 and Materia VIII gives +60, this doesn't make sense. Materia VII should be stronger than Materia VI, or am I losing my mind here? I've melded Materia VI to my 440 gear and it goes in just fine. I thought it was a tool tip error, but it's not.

    7 replaces 5. 8 replaces 6. 7 can be overmelded, 8 cannot.

    Materia VI cannot be melded onto a piece of equipment past the first advanced melding slot. Meaning it can't be used for over-melding.

    So dumb question, because I am just dumb.
    When I over meld a two slot it should go, VIII(primary)VI(primary)[capped] VI(secondary)VII(secondary) ? Is this correct? I never over melded.

    VIII + VIII (+ VIII + VII + VII overmelds) for iLvl over 420.

    This is the kind of convoluted junk I've come to expect from Square-Enix, lol. They just can't make it simple, can they?

    Why not simply... remove the restrictions on 6, and then readjust the stats on the outliers so that it makes rational sense. It blows my mind to think that they'd purposely add in 6--knowing that it'd be an issue down the road. I thought they were planning two expansions ahead?

    My other big pet-peeve with convoluted mechanics is how pre-ordering the expansion is handled. I should be able to just 'upgrade' my client from the mogstation, and automatically get entered into early access--and then automatically transition to the full game when it's the right time. The idea that there's literally 3 random codes to deal with on-top of accessing another web-services (Square Enix's store) outside of the mog-station confuses the heck out of me.

    This is all needlessly complicated, and I'll never understand why Square-Enix has to do things so convoluted all the time. There's no way this actually benefits anyone.

    It's pretty clear that SE doesn't like anything to be intuitive so this isn't particularly surprising.
