Which DoH did you pushed to 80 first and why?

After hitting 80 with my BTN way before finish MSQ or even being close to 80 with my combat classes, I wonder who else focuses on their DoL classes first and why.

I just like a bit of gathering. It is Relaxing and soothing and because I started off with BTN all together when I first started to get into crafting/gathering I felt like doing this first.

Now I have to finish MSQ because I can't visit most of the areas and the vendors only sell me 74 gear xD

I leveled all three concurrently. I did this because:

a) I didn't want different levels of gathering gear cluttering my inventory,
b) because I was also leveling my retainers (I have 2 extra beyond the 2 freebies so I have all three gatherers on retainer + a combat one for leather), and
c) so I could share the crystarium quest xp between botanist and miner since the turn ins require you to be a certain level.

Collectibles make it really easy to level gatherers.

Not 80 yet, but fisher is currently winning. You don't have to mess around with bouncing around nodes or rotations. You just sit and fish and try for good collectibles. It's also good exp discovering fishing sites and catching fish for the first time.

I think you talk about DoL, because DoH are the Crafters ;^)

For DoL (Gatherers): MIN, then BTN just a day later. Fisher will need to wait, it's my relaxing DoL, just sitting an fishing and nothing else.
For DoH (Crafters): I pushed my ALC and CUL to 80 to be ready for bufffood and pots for raiding.

Mining, because I like the various ores and gems more than I do botany stuff, and also because I'm primarily a Goldsmith and am leveling up Blacksmithing on the side, so, y'know. Fishing was next because I enjoy fishing, and, well, it's really easy to level up. I've almost got Botany to 80 though, just a couple of levels remain.

I did both MIN and BOT together. FSH is only 72 and struggling for me to find enough consecutive hours to play to make using a survival manual worthwhile.

Did my dragoon to 80 first because I want flying in every zone. Then when I did my miner and botanist leve's there is no more running to the nodes, just flying.

For DoL, I did BTN and FSH first, simply because I was farming aethersands with FSH for potions, and I need Sweetflesh Oysters and Rose Shrimp for food. I also prefer CUL as my main crafter, so that’s how BTN pushed to 80 first. MIN was my last level 80 for the gatherers.

For DoH, CUL was my first 80 because I like how I can just go out and gather mats to craft foods. I don’t have to get 500 flax/cotton bolls to make 100 yarns to make 25 cloths to make a few shirts or pants—I can just go gather materials, sometimes craft something like flour or sugar, and then set to work making food. The job is pretty self-reliant, and I like that. Same for ALC, though it requires more mob drops than CUL tends to for things like Alkahests and pots. After CUL, I more or less focused on the crafters I’d need to make my raid gear (CRP, GSM, WVR, LTW), and then finished the others off as I saw fit.

Miner, because I usually supply my own materials for crafting and most of the ones I need come from miner.
