If this ability cost 50 GP, I could see using it regularly when going for crafting mats. 200 GP is way too much.

I could see the 200 GP tag if the crystal/cluster it provided per swing was bumped by King’s Yield or the elemental Wards, but it is not. It is a straight up 1 crystal/cluster per swing.

I hit 800 GP I’ll consider using it while Collectible farming, to at least get something I can use in addition to my hand in. But, I’m not sure I’ll bother.

I was getting 2 crystals per swing when I used it in HW areas. The level of the node or the item you are hitting may affect the yield.
