    First time back after Fees

Needless to say at the point they decided to invoke the service fees i was finding it difficult to be motivated enough to log in. The world just felt empty to me. NPC's were generally non participants in the world and stood there like department store mannequins. the bad guys were either scary or not worth a second glance, without a party to help kill high level mobs solo grind was really painful. the massive amount of skills you had available with so many pointless ones didnt give any differentiation between classes. aside from people who want to be a completion and get every job up to 50 there was no real reason to do this. at least in my opinion.

That being said i have kept up on the forums and news feeds on the Lodestone and tracked changes being made and stuff in the pipes (so much stuff thats been said some is a little blurry so forgive me if some of the things i say are not entirely accurate.) I still have crysta left that i need to burn up and once i heard they are adding in Jobs i knew i was going to use some once that patch came out.

I must say that i am quite happy with the changes made since the billing was instated. I love how much better paced the battles are now with the combo system, except for the mage classes, would be nice to see some combo using a weapon skill in conjunction with a spell or something. There are quests everywhere from all kinds of NPC's on top of the Guild company quests and leve quests which helps a lot with trying to solo level (i'm big on soloing cause i am no currently in a linkshell.) I also love the inn and rested exp, another big help to casual players.

One thing that would be nice though is an ability to change your class/job and keep your equipment (like in ffxi) or have an "optimize" button to equip "optimal gear" for your current class/job. I'm happy to see more quests from NPC's but the more the merrier and ones with useful awards (gear, materia, etc.) but i'm sure all this will come in 2.0

Being a big Solo/Casual player I do hope they will have solo instanced dungeons or something special just for the solo player to balance out the required 4/2 players for the lowbie dungeon.

P.S. i will be back again if there is another substantial patch like this one with major changes, if not i will be back for sure at 2.0 if anyone has a LS that accepts casual players i would love to join.

That would be nice, although we are getting gear set saves in 2.0 at a click of a button. (ie Mannequins)

Thanks for the feedback. I know many issues will be resolved in 2.0 but i'm glad to see they havent just given up on the game in its current state. its a good way to test out some of the things they want to put in 2.0 and get live feedback.

This person will love their Chocobo companion in 2.0 since they don't want to party up/can't party up.

its not that i dont want to party up or cant, the guild i was in has had issues between having to restart 3 times because we couldnt kick people from a LS, then people started to drift away and i dont see a point in trying to find a LS until at least after the server merge. as well i wont be getting too hardcore into it until after 2.0 so i dont want to take up a slot in a LS when i wont really be there.
However, if things keep going they way they are, i can really see myself getting much more involved after 2.0 is released and i will be searching for a good LS/guild to join at that time. until then i have enough bonuses, thanks to changes in rested exp, guild leve allowance changes, and side quests to keep my levels growing while i re-learn how to play.
P.S. cant wait for fighting chocos!

if you mean self magic-> melee combos ... that'd be awesome. if you mean chaining melees with magic like magic burst in FFXI, then wait for battle regime to be fixed and restored. They say it will eventually make its return! :3

I remember the battle regimens before the new battle system and they were decent even then. I cant wait to see what they do with the newer more dynamic battle system. was it just BR that targeted specific body parts or was it some skills now too? and is it limited to Job skills or do some class skills do it too?

I also want to mention they need to make a brightness/contrast slider bar in the config options ingame cause i have a hard time seeing anything at night or in caves when i play during daylight hours. really sucks now that i actually want to play that i am forced to play only at night. or maybe its just me...

I didnt think this would get much attention because i'm not complaining or trolling. it seems only the negitive posts get lots of responses, with a few exceptions.

last update added some interesting things.
I am still big fan of the game world and setting but am losing a bit of interest in game play side at the moment , i am really thankful though for the new survey that went on site so i could give a view on game play elements and what i hope for 2.0.

Brightness/contrast slider would be good as i changed setup a bit and it darker now while other games not having such an issue because can change the settings in game and not from some tool set/config outside the game.

Think your post is good, i hope they look at feedback like yours more because it will help the game.
