Hijacking this thread with a different, related question: where does the final battle take place? Are we still in the fake Amaurot that Emet-Selch made? If so, where does that post-battle scene in which you can see the sun (underwater??) take place? Finally, why does fake Amaurot still exist after Emet-Selch kicks the bucket? My impression was that killing Emet-Selch dispelled the glamour that he cast on the ruins of Amaurot, which is why you see all those decayed buildings in the post-battle cutscene, but then you get back into the game and they're just fine. I understand the practical reason for letting it stay (not having to model two versions of the same location; letting players play in the nice looking version of the city), but what's the lore reason?

Didn't all the battles take place inside that firey hall he invites you into? The buildings in there were pretty smashed up from the start, it was showing you the end days of Ascian civilization.

As for outside that building, in the overworld Amaurot. Well I got the impression the basic city underneath the illusion is real, Emet just put the lights on and made sure somebody was home.

Eventually the magic that sustains them will run dry, they will fade, and all that will be left is some very well preserved ruins at the bottom of the ocean. Of course, depending on how much Emet poured into making them that could take months/years/decades/maybe even centuries.

    Well you see /10char
The enchantment over Amaurot will EVENTUALLY fade since Emet is gone....

It's just that the eventually will take place outside of the time bubble we operate in.

As for the Location of the Dying Gasp... yes it appears to be the actual ruins of Amaurot and the fact that the sun can be seen is well... put it up to rule of cool

I expect Elidibus may actually end up empowering Zenos, after settling their differences, or Elidibus figures out how to pull his strings.

Zenos seems intent on gaining as much power as possible to take us on directly.
Elidibus' closing comments were if we're now Warrior of Darkness, he'll kill us with a Warrior of Light.
What if he makes Zenos a Warrior of Light in some way?

Elidibus' comments there confuse me. What exactly is he going to achieve? When the WODs went after us we sorted that out. We're not LITERALLY warriors of darkness. I mean we used the blessing of LIGHT to fight the sin eaters, we beat Emet with LIGHT to nullify his darkness. We're warriors of Light in a folklore sense because we returned balance to the realm and restored the night, but we're not 'actually' warriors of darkness int he same way we 'are' warriors of light with the blessing of light.

Hm...power levels are kind of always a bit BS in my opinion, but the most logical explanation (as pointed out by other people) is probably the matter with Lahabrea burning too much of his power through changing bodies too frequently combined with a few other factors. Emet-Selch might have just been the most powerful of them magically too, and we did need the corrupted Light, Scions, and Champions from across the rift in order to win.

As for Elidibus calling on 'Warriors of Light', it's deliberately cryptic so it could mean just about anything lol. Maybe he'll find a way to marshal powerful Sin Eaters from across the First, maybe he'll trick heroes from other Shards into attacking us, maybe he'll try to turn the people of the First against our heroes, or maybe he'll do something totally different. Sky's the limit! I do really love the idea that he's getting desperate, frustrated, and terrified though. It kind of makes sense that he's terrified after so much has gone wrong. Not to mention being the last person of his entire civilization in the universe...

My impression was that we didn't use the corrupted Light. Hades asks himself if the Wardens' Light had broken free after the QTE, immediately dismisses that, and then firmly establishes in multiple comments that it's "the Light that sundered all creation".

Hm...Y'shtola mentioned how his darkness counteracted the corrupted light within us. I took this to mean we burned it off on him. Plus we usually have to get some kind of 'power up' before beating a big boss, and that one makes sense. Not to mention it's an ironic way to defeat him since it seemed like it would be our doom.

It's just Y'shtola theory, and herself is far from being sure.
It could be that we purified and assimilated it, or that we neutralized it with our new power up gained from reuniting with Ardbert.

If you go back see Temulun after the MSQ, she said to us "The light within you shines as brightly as before. More brightly, even."

I took her meaning that Ardbert was now part of us, and our soul is now more whole, thus "shines more brightly" (though of course she doesn't know about Ardbert). I'm pretty sure we burnt off the overflow of Light we built up beating Emet.
