Why Do Transfers Skip RNG Timer?

So I managed to finally get to 3 and a half million gil. A plot in Hyperion's Shirogane, 2nd Ward, plot 35 popped up, and I had the money for it. I go to buy, and it's 'not ready for purchase.' Apparently it's a measure to prevent resellers and RMT, okay, fine. I wait.

    And wait.

    And wait.

I meet some people there, who are really nice. Heck, one of them wanted to transfer but decided not to because I didn't have a house period.

Yet, three hours into waiting, this random player comes up, doesn't even say hi, the timer isn't even up, and he runs up to the placard, and there's a house there in seconds. Not even a sign that he bought it, just that he bought it.

I wasted three hours - and others waste more - of gametime when we could be doing a million other productive things only for someone who already had a house just skip the RNG timer limitation to get another one. How is this fair?

I'm not saying to get rid of the RNG timer, but something needs to be done for those who want actual houses and not apartments and don't have them, and if people trying to get their first house are subject to an RNG timer to prevent purchase, then people who're moving should damn well be limited too.

You can always relocate and avoid the timer. Wouldn't be surprised if the guy had a place somewhere in Goblets and changed it for a better view. Grabbing a small on Hyperion in Shirogane is pretty hard.

Not really needing a new topic. Housing is currently broken. Moving plots does incur a penalty in that you are buying most of the plot of land over again, but frankly they shouldn't allow people to leapfrog timers just because they didn't like the plot of land they originally owned. I am sure in the future they will fix it but right now it is broken only to the extant that yes, you can buy plots, no you are likely not going to get one without the most absurd hoops.

Not sure if there are any everquest players here but yea, the housing market is pretty much exactly like the jboots camp which is a legendarily bad item camp.

Relocating skips timer because relocating doesn't decrease the amount of housing stock in game. Wherever they moved from is now open.

I think they want people to work their way up. You start with the small plot in the horrible location, upgrade to a small somewhere nice, jump up to a medium, etc.

    Sinks more gil this way.

Don't waste your time with staying in front of an empty plot in any other housing district than the Goblet. Get a house there and then relocate in a nicer district.
