i dont want to be that guy, but if you really want just gameplay experience like pure playing no chatting, no community at all, set your duty finder language to JP.

used to set EN language back in HW era, stop doing that, try again in shb, never again. when your luck run out, you really can get the worse people out of it.

you can still get some bad apples in JP language, but even the bad one still get the job done way better than EN counterpart. even many EN people set it to JP and play that way (you can tell with their name and auto translate feature)

if you want community and chat, play with your guild or usually 50% chance you get decent party from pug. but all that is thrown out of window when you reach endgame raiding tough

I've noticed the same type of issue on Aether, many of the issues are that players are leveling up a Gunbreaker or Dancer and doing older dungeons, they think in their minds, "I've done this a million times, it should only take 5 minutes!! Come on!" and they are being impatient. Also with the changes to healers and tanks there are plenty of Mentors who won't let go of the old tactics cause they see only their own shiny damage numbers and think that is the most important thing in the world.

With Protect and other mitigation CD skills gone from healer and tank kits, the healers are having to focus more on healing and less on spamming DPS AOEs. Overall I've seen Tank and DPS classes having higher numbers with their new rotations and tanks have a few different things they can do to keep themselves alive. PLDs have their Stuns if others don't use them up, DRK has good self healing mixed into their kit, and I don't personally know about WAR and GNB as I haven't leveled them yet. Healers didn't lose anything healing-wise but are having to make sure to watch HP bars and heal more as they don't have the same downtime to toss out DPS spells.

A lot of the toxicity I've found has been more in the Novice Network than in the dungeons but I see it so much in both that I'm almost to the point of not running anything unless it's with FC members only. Anytime you try and point out that letting class A do X skill instead of class B spamming Y skill cause they use the same effect and diminishing returns in FFXIV is 3 total times and it's fully resisted even if they all hit during the effect timer of the first hit, then you are blasted for spreading around "wrong information" cause you are telling someone "how to play their sub".

Again I agree with OP, there's a lot of toxicity going around and it's spreading quickly to new players cause all they know is what the people with crowns, who are suppose to be there to help and be knowledgeable, tell them. And what I hear all the time is "pull everything to the boss, AOE AOE AOE AOE, and if you have to heal beyond a Regen then your tank sucks at using his CDs" I have literally been told that directly when asking about a dungeon I have gotten to that is new to me and asking if there's anything for a healer to know to watch for in there, meaning I was asking for what to dispel with Esuna.

And then you end up in a dungeon for 45mins and wonder why someone is mad about it lol. But seriously I haven’t really seen this but I’ve seen more new players just ignore advice.

Do not turn your chat off, all MMOs have toxic people, if toxic people are ruining everything In game then gaming isn’t for you because they won’t go away unfortunately

I have encountered players on crystal that are overly chatty and taking things at an extremely slow pace for no real reason. Though, I am sure the same could be said for any data center, and guess it just depends on the tolerance levels of the players since one standard does not fit everyone.

The players in question just treat them horribly, screaming at them to "stop being bad" and "hurry up and keep up with the group" when they're trying to learn a new place.

It's even worse in some places when the new players fall behind. I get it, you've done this a million times, but they haven't, don't treat them like trash just because you're better than they are at it...
You don't need to "learn" dungeons. There isn't a single dungeon in this game that you can't go into completely blind and perform perfectly if you just have some awareness of what's going on around you.

I've not experienced this either and I'm sorry you have. Guess luck of the draw says there has to be jerky people somewhere. I'm just sad it's hit you so much.

I would be supremely surprised if you've never been caught off guard by a new mechanic you've never encountered before. Learning doesn't necessarily mean wiping and everyone doesn't extrapolate new mechanics instantly even if they're similar to past mechanics. Everyone learns differently so i would say some people DO need to learn dungeons and we should cut them some slack.

I'm on Crystal and I haven't seen that happen aside from a DRG that wanted big pulls, but they didn't try to push the matter. Hopefully your time improves, would be a shame for anybody to quit this great game because of a few asshats ruining the journey.

I've yet to experience any toxicity since the launch, and it was reduced at the split even. Granted that doesn't mean it's there, but I don't think it's rampant.
