    Starting Stats for Races

Do the specific starting stats on races matter anymore?

I still see the text on the left side of the screen when creating a new character. Showing the starting stats.

    Thank you in advance.

They have never mattered much - at least not since the launch of ARR.

At the super low levels you might - might - be able to feel the difference between the "best" and "worst" races for a specific class. The stat range from best to worst for a main combat stat(regardless of class) runs about 5 points. Thats roughly equal to the stat boost you would get from a level 20 character wearing a shirt vs no shirt. That isnt nothing, but its still basically meaningless. By the time you get to level 50 the stat boost from just a shirt is more then 10 times that initial spread from best to worst was, and thats not even close to the current endgame situation(the "starter" level 80 shirt has more then 400 main stat). So yeah, you might feel the difference slightly early on, but over time those differences become utterly meaningless.

Which also means: Nobody will ever comment on (not to mention discriminate due to) your choice of race concerning combat ability. And if anyone ever does in a serious manner, that's a person you better keep your distance anyway.

On top of it all: A lot of people don't currently main the class they started out with, so even if you try to pointlessly absolutely minmax, it might even hurt you in the end because you prefer to play another class in the end.

In conclusion: Simply pick the race you like the most and ignore the stats.

Race stat had only mattered at launch. As for example playing a blm you had slightly more mp on certain races.
Now it really has not been relevant at all
