the SS would be
/ac "Scared Prism" <p0>
/ac "Stoneskin" <st> to allow you to target tank or <p?where ever the tank is>
then /ac Protect <st> <p0> or same as above..
the game does the correct /waits for you with this setup.

this macro would cast cure on the first party member in your list:
/ac "Cure" <P1>
this one would cast fire on the currently selected target:
/ac "Fire" <t>
as an example you can chain skills via a macro like this:
/ac "Fire" <t>
/wait 2
/ac "Fira" <t>
is that what you need?
Thanks for the responses... great info so far.
What macros have you guys made for yourself so far that you use other than /ac "Cure" <st>. Is that pretty much all I need?
I only have 2 macros for targeting/provoking purposes. In my opinion, <st> isn't as fast as <p0-7>, because once you have your party list in your head without second-guessing it, you can literally just smash the appropriate cure macro without ever cycling through targets as you would with <st>.
My signature is edible. Go ahead, try some.
Well in XI I used <stpc> for heals and scroll through party list but stayed locked onto tank so he was always first to be targeted. In this game however I have yet to touch the macros for combat and have been working off the bar itself.

I use a controller for healing... am i better off teaching myself how to use keyboard and mouse?
I also use the controller, targeting in this game is kinda screwed for controllers even though they have tried like 25 times to change it, XI still has the superior targeting mechanics. You can try using the macroes with the controller its alot easier then the action bar since if u don't do it right you will end up cyclling palletes and misfiring spells.

Depends on what you're most comfortable playing with. Naturally, those who are partial to keyboard will say it's the best and vice-versa. What's important is you figure out if <p#> or <st> works best for you.

I've healed in other mmo's by targeting nameplates and use keybinds to heal. However, I play all of my combat classes with a controller. It's really hard going back and forth. I tried using a keyboard.. but I didn't even known how to open the menu without the controller.....
I'll try out some of the healing macros tonight....
Also, other than Cura.... what other ability for WHM/ CONJ deserves 7 macros corrosponding to each party member?
