Some people seem confused or didn't notice bur the 7 other people with you are also wol's. Im guessing the confussion steems from people confusing the echo with the blessing of light. The echo can happen to anyone while the blessing of light ia directly from the mother crystal. If you remember kitty boy says around the lines "let eons contract" or around that meaning he calls the other wol's from mostly different time periods so yes all 8 of you are wol.

Wanted to clear that up as some people were confused or thought it was just 7 regular adventurers again when it's 7 wol you fight with. Old or future wol no one knows though all are from different times :p

The WoL from what I gather is basically 8/14ths of that previous incarnation, as each of the fragments of the soul from the destroyed shards return to the Source upon being erased from existence. With Ardbert's sacrifice we now possess 9/14ths of our original soul, one for the piece that was in the source, one for Ardbert's soul, and seven others for the various fractions that were returned with each calamity. (At least that was my interpretation. The lore is still settling in so if I'm wrong please correct me!)

Regardless it's interesting and a good way to explain /why/ these other heroes appear from nowhere in so many places they couldn't have possibly reached. Gotta love when the game ties gameplay to lore like this.

The thing that all this made me realize is that eventually we are going to get a story where the Ascians succeed in joining a world with the source, and we will see it.
