Mog Store for registering Games is confusing

You Mog Store for buying games acts like it is another company.

I purchased Shadowbringers Preorder. So I put in that code a while ago. And have been playing. Now I get an email to ACTIVATE Shadowbringers.

HUH? Activate again? Why? Waste of my time. Why is the Preorder different from the Game? It's not like I could only buy the Preorder and not the game itself, so why two codes?
And the link in the email took me to a page with nothing but pictures and links to purchase the game again.
Finally took a link from the confirmation email back in June and figured it out.
    WHY IS THIS SO HARD?
Please make to game buying store know that I have bought the game without cutting and pasting a registration code between two of YOUR OWN WEBSITES. DUH

Your game works better than your website[s].

And another thing. Try to use your website with Firefox with Ghostery - Adware stopper - installed. YOU DO NOT NEED ADWARE so why is your site broken when ADWARE stoppers are running in my browser.

BTW, Turning off ADWARE STOPPERS is not an option since Ads are not checked and Deliver MALWARE to break into machines. I do not trust your site to not delver me MALWARE if you are using ADS. See?

I had to use Microsoft EDGE to get and enter my registration code, since it is not secure. Is that the message you are sending with your website? You have to use an Insecure browser to use our site? Not a message I think you want to send.

Anyway. After a lot of confusion, I'm registered for Shadowbringers - The Real Game.
Sigh. Why is this so hard?

Firstly, that message popped up because your preorder code merely entitled you to early access and the special preorder bonus items, it is not the actual SHB expansion game code that is completely seperate and you get with your actual copy of the game. So the message to register SHB is correct.

Secondly, I don't know why you had such trouble registering SHB as for me there was a shortcut link to the specific place to register the expansion on the main account page on the Mogstation (it was a link that said literally 'Register expansion code'). Clicking it took me straight to the required place and the expansion was registered within a minute.

As for the problems with adblockers, the problem is caused by the fact websites these days run 'scripts' in the background that handle various functions, one such function on the Mogstation is security scripts to ensure your payment details are correct and not stolen. Unfortunately adblockers like Noscript cannot tell these benign scripts from malware and so throw up errors/block them from running by default. You have to manually whitelist the specific scripts to ensure the site isn't broken or else disable the adblockers completely. It's annoying, but it's a necessary evil I'm afraid.

So, if you don't care about privacy, tracking, malware, and cutting and pasting tracking numbers, we are all good. Nope.. Sites not working with Ad-Blockers is not a necessary evil. I run ghostery / Firefox on the Amazon and dozens of other etailers with no problem. It's easy. The rules are well known to the web gurus. All the SQE sites could work perfectly well with an adblocker. Most other etailers / forums /etc sites work fine with adblocking. I'm not clear why SQEX has problems. I assume they are not actually serving ads, but using tracking cookies. Did they not know that I was logged in. Again. So confused.

Firstly, your statement sounds so reasonable. But I still don't get why buying a Preorder or Early Access does not simply IMPLY having access to the game later. Why the two codes? You have just repeated that there are two codes. Well, ok. But Why? Does it even make sense to buy Early Access and not have ACCESS??

Secondly, Like I said, the link in the last email was broken. It came up to a page that asked me to log in again to buy the game. I only got a page with the codes by going back to a Previous Email I got a few weeks ago, when I bought the thing. So the TWO CODES were both linked in the same email anyway from weeks ago.

IDK... To my mind this is sort of like buying something on the Amazon website and then having to cut and paste a tracking number into the UPS / FEDEX / USPS site to get the item shipped. Not only that, you get an email days later that the tracking number is available, and then you have to figure out which shipper the item is for, click on the link to open a site - Do I trust the email or am I being Phished? - then cut and paste from the Amazon page that just came up into another site where I logged in. Well if you are confused now, so was I. The fact that Ads, and trackers, which nobody checks and can delivery your private information to third parties and deliver malware to your computer is an added benefit of their system. If you are confused by this explanation, then that's the intent. And it appears to be the idea that Square Enix is attempting too. Perhaps they would argue that the system evolved when, and because, they also sell the game and expansions as physical things with numbers on them, and those have to be typed in somewhere to "Enable the expansion." The problem is that often you buy these physical things via a website and then find out that the code has been stolen and already used. But only some percentage of the time. However, I'm sure that for some extra work on their part they can make it work so that if you buy it online from SquareEnix, and ask it to - without cutting and pasting or email - it could transfer the code from your store account, to your game account. I'm not clear why these are different. I get gifting. That's another problem. And I'm not saying that there should never be a place to type a code, only that if it's not a gift, I should not have to cut / paste a code. After all, Blizzard has exactly the same problem and you don't cut and paste codes to make it work.
