    Glamour restrictions??

    Hello!

    i hope i am posting in the correct forum,

    Do you think SE will ever lift the glamour restrictions on classes/jobs for further personal experience/unique looks?

    there are some great gear out there i would love to use for my PLD from other classes but even the glamour plate restricts it to DoW only.

    thoughts?

    Personally there are a lot of items that this shouldn't occur with but at the same time there are a lot that it could.

    We have this discussion quite often. The tricky part is how to explain what we want to the devs without them taking it too far.

    You have to be really careful not to say you want to remove "job restrictions" on gear. If you say this, they will skip ahead to "a black mage shouldn't be wielding an axe".

    What we really should be asking for is for role restrictions to be lifted from non job-specific gear. For example, there are some heavy armors that would look really good on a healer designed after an "armored cleric" concept. Or Some leather harnesses that would look good on a mage. Maybe there are some shoes that you think would look cute with a particular skirt, but the shoes are striking only and the skirt is aiming only.

    We need to be really clear that it's just these role restrictions that we want to lift. Job-specific equipment (weapons and AF gear) should stay restricted.

    I do totally agree on weapons/shields as such! sorry i should of worded that a bit better.

    head/body/legs/feet as you suggested would create some amazing role play!

    i was thinking maybe coding would take a lot of work to ensure each gear piece works with all classes/jobs when using actions?

    I dont think so, please no.

    The "tanks in bathsuit" already throw me out of the game's world. No more please.


    Glamour should be job locked. I hope the majority agrees with my opinion

    Yep, every player understand the question but the producer can't.

    Maybe we just need someone better for the communication.

    Speak for yourself. Weapons should still be restricted - just because of how changing between classes/jobs work in FFXIV.

    Other than that it is just plain silliness for there to be any restrictions on gear glamours. AF gear not excepted.

    Of course, lifting restrictions on some gear is better than not lifting it on any.

    MistakeNot isn't disagreeing with me about weapons, but about AF gear. And that's fine. Some people think all wearable gear (not weapons) should be unlocked. It's okay to have this opinion. It would be much more difficult to convince a dev to agree with this opinion, though. Arguing for role-free gear is a much more attainable goal, as the devs would be more likely to be swayed if we maintained that it's okay for AF gear to remain job locked.
