There is such thing as beating a dead horse. Chances are, when you see a "OH, IT'S THIS THREAD AGAIN" post, it's because the topic has been discusses to death.

As far as the rude thing, quite a few people on these forums suffer from Unwarranted Self Importance, so they feel they need to be a turd to others because they're special.

The gaming community at large is full of trolls. I've never seen a gaming forum that wasn't chock full of them except for guild websites and things like that.

Here's an excellent example of a non-gaming forum where people know how to act with respect. (And know how to not spam the forums with useless drivel and multiple threads on the same topic, thus destroying any value a search box once had.)

I just leave sarcastic remarks around. It never really works but then again neither would a dislike button.

This topic made me want to give some kind of insightful speech on how to be a better person, maybe even grant a few life changing epiphanies. But then I realized that I'm completely unqualified and human interaction doesn't even make sense to me most of the time.

Forums regularly piss me off and the only way I know of to make things any better is to close the browser before I start typing something, no matter how good my intentions.

I really, really wish I could get this across to myself, as would many on these boards I fairly assume.
