Oh noes! Is there someone role-playing on FFXIV? I thought this was a MMORPG!

This is a bunch of horse pocky. Crystal is not an RP wasteland devoid of any raiders. It's all baseless fear mongering and the reason Aether is closed is because of mindsets like this. Everyone cried wolf and jumped ship only to net themselves a completely closed datacenter and massive queues. As for Crystal, queues are low. FATES are being cleared just fine. Dungeon queues are just the same as they were in Aether, even faster sometimes. There is plenty of farms for old and new content alike. The entire Aether data center has been locked for weeks now. Nobody can create new characters or transfer to any of the servers. I set up an automated tracker to check the website every 60 seconds and no server opened. They might want to consider adding another server to Aether and Primal.
I came back after an extended break and found out there was a data center split and I got moved from Aether to Crystal. All of my friends are on the Aether data center which means I have no way to play with them. I do have a level 5 alt I made on Jenova that I guess I could level boost and story skip with but that's $50 just to play an alt with friends.
A lot of people want to play on Aether because that is where the majority of hardcore raid guilds are, and for me personally that is where my friends are. If I want to push savage in a few weeks I have a bad feeling I won't be able to on Crystal.
There is no queue at all on my server and there was only a 20 person queue on launch. Currently some of the fates are failing because I'm the only one doing them. And yes this is in the new zones.
Has anyone heard anything about possible new servers to Aether?
They will never, ever add new servers until every single world in every data center is full. There are several preferred servers on Crystal so buckle down for a long, long wait.

I'm sorry but I can't quite feel sympathy. In fact all of those on Balmung can quite literally parrot what all of the raiders were saying during the last expansion. "This is not SE's problem, it is a player made problem." "Raiders did this to themselves by piling all into one area." Sound familiar? The entire Aether data center has been locked for weeks now. As others have said raiding is very possible still on Crystal even after all the people freaked out and left the data center.
Frankly, the so-called RP servers are very pleasant and very social, which is a core aspect of any MMO. I am glad these "raiders" have decided to settle down elsewhere.

To be honest, most "Hardcore raiders" I came across in my time raiding just wanted a reason to throw hissy-fits and act superior. Most raiding I've done on Crystal has been very patient and gotten many more clears than before.

Honestly my experience has only improved ever since the raiders left. Less wipes, and when they do happen everyone is very polite and understanding about it. Which is pretty much the complete opposite of how things were when we were still a part of Aether with all of the 'raiders'.

With world visit, we could use 2 or 3 more servers per datacenter, similar to JP's setup. (They're at 3-4 more servers per datacenter than we have, with half the total population and 90% of the active population). They will never, ever add new servers until every single world in every data center is full.
We wont get it because everyone would race to get on the new Aether servers, but we really should have had them added in this last datacenter split.

Hindsight 20/20. They won't do it now because there is no reason to add more worlds when there is 10 still open for character creation and transfer (with 7 of those being on Crystal).
You can't raid on Crystal? Well that's no good.
Looks like the only solution now is move you to your own server and quarantine you.
It is the closed minded raiders who jumped ship because they feared with Mateus and Balmung going to Crystal that raiding would die. People had to listen to people complain about RPers for several years and be told we were the reason why the server queues were terrible when on Aether. Looks like the shoe is on the other foot now. You raiders did this to yourself. Logging in with basic 12-30 people queues at peak times is nice and I have had such great groups clearing dungeons and trials with. People understanding and patient. People wanting to go in blind and learning as they go. Learning EX groups who want to actually learn and not say 'Sorry, it isn't even the first week of Xpac but you need to have cleared already before you can come!'
