Aether Still Locked

The entire Aether data center has been locked for weeks now. Nobody can create new characters or transfer to any of the servers. I set up an automated tracker to check the website every 60 seconds and no server opened. They might want to consider adding another server to Aether and Primal.

I came back after an extended break and found out there was a data center split and I got moved from Aether to Crystal. All of my friends are on the Aether data center which means I have no way to play with them. I do have a level 5 alt I made on Jenova that I guess I could level boost and story skip with but that's $50 just to play an alt with friends.

A lot of people want to play on Aether because that is where the majority of hardcore raid guilds are, and for me personally that is where my friends are. If I want to push savage in a few weeks I have a bad feeling I won't be able to on Crystal.

There is no queue at all on my server and there was only a 20 person queue on launch. Currently some of the fates are failing because I'm the only one doing them. And yes this is in the new zones.

Has anyone heard anything about possible new servers to Aether?

And you can run things just fine over here, we still have a healthy if somewhat diminished raid community. I am sorry you can't be with your friends though... Give it a week or two and at least one server is bound to go back to standard as the bandwagon players leave.

You can indeed raid on Crystal, it was the mass exodus of people claiming you couldn't (Mind you this is a complete lie.) who left the data center, now complaining about the fact they cant make characters. Make up your mind. Its a game, raiding happens all over.

There is nothing wrong with raiding on Crystal. The only issue is someone started a panic because Balmung and Mateus were put there and apparently they have a deep uncontrolled fear of roleplayers. Knowing what I've seen from other mmo companies, you won't see another server added till all of Crystal is set to Standard. Right now, even with world visit, most of Crystals servers are STILL preferred. So looks like Aether and Primal are just going to have to come to us....or wait till more people decide to try the game out.

All the datacenters mass crashed from what I can gather from twitter. Happened on Crystal too.

Official release of the expansion was yesterday so more people are playing than early access now if they didn't pre order it. I don't expecrt the congestion to die down for a few weeks.
