    So some people want 'a more engaging crafting' experience because they feel that the game should be constantly entertaining. I understand that. And I think SE could add tasks and quests that would add to that feel (crafting missions in similar scope to DOW/DOM missions). But I think the basic crafting system should stay simple. (simple doesn't mean boring). Mostly because see, people have actual lives. Sometimes I want to be 'in game' and just hanging out talking with friends etc but I also want to catch up on my tv. It is nice to have some activities in game that allow for this. That way, you can take a physical and mental break for a while but still be part of the community. I mean I can craft a stack of knights bread all while chatting with my hubby across the room, but I can't talk with him...at least not coherently, and focus on Ifrit.

    Again, let me be clear....I can't craft all day. I only can do it for 1-2 hours at a time. But I do it when I want a 'quiet' activity. I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the big cake event that was described so long ago. I mean seriously, you have no idea how happy just the idea of getting together with other cooks to bake a cake made me. But I think SE could spend their time better by tweaking the current system but then adding a lot of content, quests, tasks, apprenticeships, group activities that all can be done for exp/rewards and that make the whole crafting process more engaging.

    Quicker? I took a break for 6 months, just came back 2 weeks before patch...I still got a few crafts left to 50 and just on monday I grinded CRP from 41 to 45 in a matter of 4 hours...

    Before this patch that would have taken me easily 8h~

    Not to mention before Patch 1.17 where this would have taken me an easy 30hs...

    I'm grinding on recipes that give me an average of 1500-2200 XP per synth...if that's not totally exxagerated already, what could be? You wanna get 4000 XP per synth spamming standard?

    Back in the days(strange how that sounds...) I was usually grinding 1 Rank on ARM and BSM per week(after 40+) due to fatigue and gathering Mats and shards...now all of that is just a joke. Don't get me wrong, the crafting system is tedious...but quicker lvling won't change that, rather it should be more fun, but slower lvling as it is right now.

    PS: I mean't to edit my first post, not quote it...meh <.<

    My only gripe is how bad Hasty Hand is, I would much prefer it if:

    1. Hasty Hand gave 0 EXP but never failed. (so it was like the traditional quick craft in EVERY FKING MMO!)
    2. The normal crafting was a lot snapper and faster, its SO DAMN sluggish
    3. Add a multi instant craft using machines in guilds, ofc make it cost gil per craft (gil sinks =D)

    Also give us a way to cancel synth, allow us to go first person ...... annoys me, why does the whole UI have to be locked up and hidden when I go into crafting mode? Its about as pathetic as buying things from the AH window and your game has a heart attack.

    I like how crafting is more engaging than in other games, and I'd hate to see it reduced to a system like WoW's, where you literally push one button, wait a few seconds, and get your item, all from anywhere in the world, without having to change gear. I think that crafting should involve actual work, but it could still be better than it currently is.

    Not for every synth because that would become just as tedious... But I think the skills themselves should be more interactive. Maybe a mini-game that determines quality increase? Stuff like that.

    They've already confirmed that's how it's going to be in 2.0, but just for "quick crafts".

    I was actually disappointed I could only select 3 options, I wanted to click them all.
    I'm not trolling either, it just way to much effort to craft, and is too complicated I don't like having to go to websites all the time to figure out how to craft stuff I like to just be able to figure it out in game quickly and easily.

    Honestly my biggest issue with crafting is how the leves are set up. Completely random is NOT the way to go. Give us a set number of leves for each range (10, 15, 20, 25, 30, etc...) or at the very least make it so we can consistently get leves for our own level range or higher.

    I've been saying this since Sept. 2010. They already have it set up so that there are leves every five levels, why not just give us static access to them? It's the simplest solution to the issue of leveling crafts.

    That way they don't have to take away any more of what people like about the system.

    On top of that, the only other change I'd like to see is melding be a classless activity -- by classless i mean one class can meld anything as long as their level is correct. That would be awesome for all crafters because it would mean fewer people feel they "need" to level multiple crafts resulting in less overall competition.

    I don't think crafting should be faster, it needs that point where it will stop some folks from lvling it, like me, so everyone in game wont have all crafts to 50, there are tons of ppl who wont craft right now and making it faster will just make them want to do it.
