    Everything.
You lvl WAY too slow and the activity itsself is the most boring thing I've ever seen in any game.
Sitting in a factory in RL doing the same stuff everyday is more interesting and diversified than this.
If I had a TV I might not mind spamming Enter all day, but since I don't, I can't even watch TV while spamming enter without looking.
I tried raising quality instead for more exp, the difference was so shallow it didn't matter at all.
If I craft with leves instead of my own materials, I spend even more time on useless stuff like running from one camp to another, having 2 leves per camp at most.
There is NO interesting, engaging content for crafters at all.
Crafted gear is inferior to NM drops until end game when you put in lots of materia.
SE could get rid of crafting classes and it would take nothing away from my gameplay.

I usually love crafting; especially cooking and sewing. I did it in any online or offline game possible and in some it was really enjoyable, not so much in others, but it always involved funny mini games, a suitable leveling curve, etc. or, if the game didn't have any of these, at least instant craft of as many items as I had material.

FFXIV though..I won't even call this a mini game..just the most tedious thing ever.
I'd rather see FFXIV take the engaging and enjoyable route, but if they can't think of anything, I'd rather have instant craft than this.

After patch 1.21 = once I knew I could press a certain "command" on a certain "orb color" in order to get max exp as long as the RNG factor did not cause a "synthesis failed" after entering the "command", I did it and still fell asleep from the monotony...

Crafting success is still, after patch 1.21, based on RNG and monotony - the chances to fall asleep are still the same and the chances to "fail" after each button press are a little lower then before patch 1.21 but still rely, in the end, on RNG for complete success...

And personally, I am completely in agreement with HiirNoivl - I want to be fully entertained by a game and not have to search for additional entertainment outside of a game while playing a game...

If FFXIV is not going to be that kind of game, that's ok - I just won't sub to it any longer and instead opt to play a game that is going to be that kind of game.

I think they should just give up on even having crafting and gathering as main classes tbh. They could just abolish them as classes and make them as sort of a skill that can be leveled up that can be done from any of the battle classes and automate the crafting and gathering process since the outcome is more or less random and its thats basically automated now anyways either via bot, turbo controller, or people just don't use the class.

i enjoy crafting more than i do tanking in a party. i guess that means they should remove tank classes from games too as well, right? the thing is there is nothing they can add to a game that everyone will enjoy.

too many inputs per synthesis. I dont mind having options during it, but the absolute fastest you can get something done just by "standard synsthesis" is 5 turns assuming everything goes perfect. Thats my only real complaint, because it never goes perfect. Find a way to shorten the amount of time per synth, and I'm all for it.

The system is fine,,just the delivery that still hinders me....I hope server-client structure and revamped UI will fix this....

It would be nice if I could just press a button and craft mats instantly but play the minigame for final items. It can get tedious yeah but all crafting/leveling does in any game. Having to do a 30 sec "minigame" of pressing enter 5 times to craft every sub mat really bugs me.

This is where a "mastery" system could be in handy. If I'm not mistaken they plan on adding a better recipe book for 2.0, from there they could easily has each recipe have a mastery level along with a natural understanding to each recipe. Such as a lv 1 recipe at lv 11 would be start at 10% +50 quality, 21= 20% +75, 31= 30% +100. 41=40% +125. Basically when you are above a certain for the recipe you would have a % of it already complete and the quality would have a boost. The mastery system would allow you to add on to the level range boost where when you "master" a recipe you would obtain something like a 25% boost along with +100 durability on top of what you would gain from levels. So a level 1 recipe would start at 65% with 225 durability before HQ mats are taken into account.

This would encourage players to work on recipes they might not normally work on such as skilling up with gear rather then materials. As you skillup with gear you would also obtain mastery over it which would not only make the item easier to make but could also unlock higher tier recipes.

There is a lot that crafting can do such as have ailities that reduce the starting % so you can have more chances at improving quality such as if you mastered a lv 50 recipe but you wanted to start at 0% you could attach an ability and start with 0% but still keep the +100 quality.

I would like to see if they plan on showing us their plans with DoH/L, I'd like to say that hopefully there will be no worries to them being fleshed out since they have done a wonderful job readjusting the battle classes as well as the abilities for all the disciplines. With how smooth that change has been as well as the way jobs are being handled we can only hope that DoL/H will end with the same positive results.

To me the only reason you need something else to do is because the game doesn't enguage you and does not make you want to pay attention. I do the same thing watch netflix, but that is only because I am always waiting for animations to play. Get rid of that and give us snappy input times and I think it would work out just fine.
