Crafting in FFXIV is a blast! But then I tend to wake up 5 hours later to discover I actually only crafted about 3 things and there is drool on my keyboard.

What I don't like about the current crafting system is that its very tedious and boring to level. The mini game you play to craft is not fun. Crafting should be done at a much faster pace. Spamming 1 button for over a hundred hours is not fun.

If spamming synths that use up lots of mats wasn't one of the best ways to level up any DoH job, then I think the price of materials wouldn't be so high and unbalanced.
They can partially fix that by cutting down on traveling for craft levequests, increase exp rewarded by craft levequests, and add other ways to level (crafting quests, group crafting, Hamlet stuff).

They don't even really need to increase exp gains any more. Just allow static access to leves instead of the randomness they have now.If spamming synths that use up lots of mats wasn't one of the best ways to level up any DoH job, then I think the price of materials wouldn't be so high and unbalanced.

One of the worst systems you'll find in any game to date

Hate the monotony right now. 2 synth options won't make that anybetter. Best temp option: Fixed camps, like DoW/M, best permanent option: make 2 crafting synth options: 1) insta synth, no possibility of hq, 2)craft it out like now, using which ever two options they'll be giving us and you can hq.

Crafting after 1.21 is so much better. A lot more feeling of control and consistency with each of the 3 synthesis actions having a use. The control over HQ rate is also nice.
Most of all there's the degree to which Quality effects experience - it's been buffed to an amazing degree. I've gotten 2.3k xp from a levequest synth with rested bonus and no scroll. Doubling/Tripling your xp gain by paying more attention to the synthesis and making smart use of your skills, which are now readily available, pays off very nicely.
The difference between crafting now and before 1.21 is night and day.

DoH recipe level requirements ruin the current synthesis system.
I think they should scrap the DoH recipe level requirements. Recipes could require DoW/DoM level AND correct ingredients.
Currently, there is a minority that enjoy spending their time grinding DoH levels... Personally, I would rather hit every red light for the rest of my life.

No need to screw up in-depth crafting system to satisfy people who don't enjoy it when they can make changes, as they have with 1.21, to encourage people who may enjoy it.
