DNC visuals and sound effects are too much for me.

I enjoy playing the class, but I find the sound effect of the tambourine and the clash clash of each dance press starting to become quite piercing to the ears. It makes me dread having to initiate standard step!

Not only that but i think the visual overlay of colours to be a bit overbearing. I wish it was toned down a bit so we could appreciate the actual dancing aspect.

you can reduce the visual by going to the char config and set the visual skill to limited

as for the sound... i guess you can try lower sfx volume in the option but it will affect everything too

Actually gumas gave you a valid choice of how to deal with it. Personally I like that dancer is so colourful - I always enjoyed FFXIV for a game with heavy visual effects for my class. I would be sad if they lower it or turn it down. You can always adjust in the config and the Sound Settings.

I agree with Nanami. It's great as is. People who can't handle it should be the ones to have to adjust their settings. That's why such settings exist in the first place.

    Quoted for truth.

This could be said for all of the jobs, including rotations and moves that were removed. People who can't handle things should just go try something else, instead of advocating for the stuff the rest of us like to be neutered. Even worse if they could just go into the settings and change things for themselves, but of course why do that when you can just ask the devs to make game-wide changes that impact EVERYONE when you can just tweak things for yourself...

Satire aside, this is actually a genuine problem which afflicts not only this game but countless other franchises, where changes were made to how the next entries of established franchises play because people were too lazy to go into the options menu and adjust things for themselves when the previous title gave them all the control in the world. When companies listen to this stuff to attempt going for mass appeal, it has historically always backfired in sales and can be a franchise-killer. : points to Killzone : Companies should listen to the most hardcore players because they understand the systems most intimately.

Most of the classes' sounds bother me, so I actually changed my audio settings to have very low sound effects, ambience, et cetera with a decent BGM level and a bit higher for voices. Maybe you can check it out? You can also change visuals as someone aforementioned. I personally like the visuals.

I won't be coming back to FFXIV's forums. The forum vibe is way too venomous and brings out the worst in me. I don't like who I am on the forums, so it's best to distance myself.

I never noticed sounds being out of the ordinary. Maybe its race related? I play a miquo'te.
The visuals I had already turned down from when I played ninja. Yea, that was too much. Fortunately, ffxiv has ui controls for everything.
