Maybe, but when it's a fight in an expansion where we've done it for every single dungeon endboss I can think of, I'm less willing to believe it was an intentional choice for that specific dungeon than I am that it was just applied across the board to try to give the expansion a more somber theme. I don't doubt we'll go back to cheering in an expansion or two, even when beating up ancient technology, despite the fact that we should be even more tired of things by that point.

I haven't completed the MSQ yet, but my guess is we are the WoL and this is a battle we didn't choose to fight in.

i kinda wish SE put more animation when we react after dungeon finish. maybe something like depend on our HP when we dealt the final blow to boss.

    - less than 30%, tired emoticon
    - 30-60%, smile and nod emoticon
    - 60-80% default win reaction
    - 80-100%, battlestance emoticon

it probably never happen given it just a tiny little detail, but one can dream =P

today i'd like to ask a question which boggles my mind recently. Lately whenever we finish a dungeon our avatar just closes their eyes and looks downward a bit in silence.

Before this happend they were pretty ecstatic upon finishing a dungeon.

Does this have to do with the recent knowledge our WoL(D) gained with everything or is he/she just simply tired of pressing on?

Just a question that was on my mind.

    Greetings

It will make a little more sense towards the end of the MSQ storyline. You aren't wrong per say in that WoD/L is tired, but there is a very good reason behind it and one that has pretty strong emotional and character value.

I finished the MSQ story. Can absolutely agree on that.

There is even a side quest in crystarium that gives a little bit of insight that the WoD/L shows symptoms of exhaustion.

I mean after their soul nearly breaking. I wonder how much this really had an effect on them. Gotta say, before the final battle i was thinking for a second: Ok thats it. Game Over..... I know this can't happen cause plot armor. xD"

I can kind of understand being a little down after this one though, considering we're destroying the last ditch effort/ultimate creation created by the descendants of some of our most reliable and loyal friends of the Garland Ironworks.

It had to be done, but I'd still feel a little sad destroying their creation.. which basically dooms (as far as we know right now) the Exarch and the tower to never being able to return to the Source due to the timey-wimey mechanics no longer working.

Being sad because you killed a sin eater/lightwarden makes sense, considering their origins.

That (in my eyes) has more to do with being paying respects to Cid, Biggs and Wedge that spent so much time after your death to create this thing helping you preventing the Calamity (and you death).

It makes sense for The Twinning considering the reveal, but I have to agree with you on Anyder.

Well you could consider that (spoiling in case)

The last boss was made to help contain the disaster, only for us to pretty much kill it immediately so it wouldn't kill us as well. Guy sacrificed himself for nothing.

Do we have the same emotion for the 73 dungeon? I don't remember but its the one dungeon of this xpac that I don't think it would fit for.

Yeah, it’s in the 73 dungeon too. It got to a point where I was like “Well, my WoL is just tired of everything”
