I LOVED the story, which is a 10/10 for me. The story was by far the most ...heart-wrenching and enjoyable experience so far.
Characters were amazing and well done, save for a certain human who wouldn't stop being a baby bitch the entire time. HE was a disappointment, but he always is.
The dungeons were well crafted and enjoyable. I don't think I've done a dungeon yet that I haven't enjoyed massively!
Music is all great, save for the Battle Theme for the Overworld. I had to turn it off because it just did not suit the tone of the areas. I dont enjoy being chased by people having a seizure filled Garage-band jam session.

Even on reaching level 80, I cant wait for the rest of the story! Im stoked!

    Story: 5/10
-- It was good, but extremely predictable. I felt most of the points where I was supposed to be surprised fell extremely flat on me because my reaction was more like. "Yep, saw that coming a loooooong time ago."
-- The Role quests seem all the same to me so far (2/4 complete: Healer + Phys DPS) and I felt the 2 NPCs that I had to put up with through them might as well have been the same one and I suspect the other 2 will be too.
-- Role-play Solo duty with Thancred was boring as hell. Way too long. Not able to move a lot of times. Not fun at all.
-- Most solo duties- not very interesting and some of them just seemed to go on for way too long. But then, I say that for most solo duties, so nothing's really changed there.
-- Most solo duties were fighting the SAME FREAKING GUY. C'mon, at least give him a lackey or something for the earlier parts? Variety?
-- OMG can we walk AND talk at the same time? (Rak'Tika)
-- Level 80 job quest? Yeah... uh... waste of time.

    Music: 8/10
I enjoy most of the music quite well. The combat theme is garbage, the title theme is meh, but the rest is pretty good.

    Healer Balance: ZZzzzZZZ
Oh, I'm sorry was I supposed to notice something? I fell asleep.
    - You took repose from WHM and gave it to all healers in Role Actions for the level 80 role quest? ROFLMAO. That has got to be the STUPIDEST reason to remove yet another WHM ability yet. (sorry, I am bitter. I have been screaming at them for doing this since 3.0.)

    Boss/Trial fights: 9/10
I enjoy most of the mechanics and fights so far.

    Jobs: ??/10
I can't say for all, I've leveled DNC and WHM to 80. WHM is ZZzzZZzzz, but dancer is fun as hell. I may be switching mains and using the whm to farm tomestones =/

"Then what is magic for?" Prince Lir demanded wildly. "What use is wizardry if it cannot save a unicorn?"
Schmendrick did not turn his head. With a touch of sad mockery in his voice, he said, "That's what heroes are for."

I think it's the best expac so far, for me. I loved all the expac but this one, MSQ wise, really felt intense.

I don't know if I'm the only one on that, but I thought the Ascients in Amaurot were kind of adorable ? Perhaps it's because they treat us like children but they're just so polite and sweet. I loved every minute I spent talking to them and doing quests in there.
I was pleasantly surprised by Emet-Selch too, since I really didn't enjoy the idea of another undercooked villain at the end of the previous expac, when he randomly appeared in the room... I was like yay, another meaningless psychopath in the field. But in the end, I really enjoyed having him around and his story was a powerfull one.

I also love the new jobs, especially dancer, I absolutely love it. Can't wait to level it up to 80 !

Areas are great and the music is stunning, as usual. It was a bit redundant with the aether currents but oh well, once its done, its done.

Overall, I'm not disappointed (I am not a difficult person that is, I'm easy so please) and I feel like this story really felt like our character's story. I don't know how to explain it exacly, but it really felt like it was about us. I never actually felt that in the other expacs before.

So yeah, I'm quite happy with this one, really enjoyed and is still enjoying it !

What's with the forum always listing this on the top with 8 replies...

Either way, good story, music, visual. Still slow and highly lacklustre gameplay, unimaginative combat rotations, enemy design is same as ever, fate are unchanged, maps are vacant. dungeons repetitious due to bosses always repeating the same patterns...

In essence... FFXIV isn't a good game, good story, but not a good game.

    Overall: 8.5/10

Story was much better than previous expansions, duties totally blew SB launch duties away, and music is amazing.

My biggest issue with the story and it was a pretty big one is

Thancred living after that super over dramatic fight with Monk dude. I seriously thought he had died at that point. Using everything he had to fight him off, skill that was taxing on his body, finishing it with the last bullet etc... It would of made a decent ending for him with his minfilia gone and dying for Minifilia. He seemed to have a few death flags at the beginning imo.

The whole thing felt like a total cop out. SE didn't have to balls to kill him but wanted to cash in the emotional pain of seeing him "die". I was really soured on the msq for the rest of the desert zone.

9.9/10. I adored it. I'm not a great reviewer, so I'm having a difficult time articulating my feelings, but I just... loved it. Really truly loved it. The story, the environments, the music. It blew me away. I haven't felt this way ever since I beat FFIX & FFX.

I took away half a point because AST feels bad for me to play. I ran a few duties with it and couldn't hack it. Of course, I can't say definitively how I'll feel about it until I take the time to level it, but eh. Still.

Gained half a point again because DNC is so much fun that I don't even miss AST.

And then took away -.1 points because of the lack of passive enemies, except the bats in Rak'tika. But that's a complaint I have about FFXIV in general, not just ShB.

I can't stop thinking about the last zone. Don't get me wrong, I've loved FFXIV up until now too, but there's something particularly special about this expac. It felt nostalgic even though it's brand new. I think XIV might be my favourite FF title now thanks to ShB.

Ummm, albeit everyone keeps saying that this is the best expansion, I don't know what to say myself. I've enjoyed all of them!

Actually, when I started it and some maps beyond, I thought that this might be my favourite too, as I REALLY loved the First and all its magical lore. However, I admit that some of the characters ruined parts of it for me, something that didn't happen to me in previous expansions (especially in SB, where I loved everyone), and I admit that I'm also disappointed that we ruined the impacting cruelty of the First, being a fan of dark settings and tragic endings *laughs*. So I don't know if I can say that this is my personal best.

Still, it was full of amazing moments and magical lore, and I've enjoyed it a lot. I don't know what number to give it (?)

    ----FFXIV: Shadowbringers Veredict----

    MSQ: 3/10
Every trope there is, as usual. Nothing more, nothing less.

    Music: 7/10
Not bad, even if sometimes it feels out of place.

    Voice acting: 3/10
    Terrible. Hire new people!

    Graphics:6/10
    Pretty, but empty.

    Progression: 3/10
Is there any progression in this game? Progression is an illusion.

    Fashion: 9/10
    I see pretty glamours!

    Role-play 9/10:
OMG! Lots of RPers joining the scene!

    Final score: 5.7/10
A huge improvement from previous expansions. There's always room for creativity and less linearity.

my main issue with ShB and FFXIV as a whole is the lack of innovation , there is nothing "NEW" , trusts i guess....but outside that ShB isnt adding anything new , same thing as last 2 expansions. Thats not bad but uhm....it feels like the expansion is missing key features ?

MSQ is top tho ,zones are incredible , music as always is amazing , 0 issues outside 1 crash .

8/10 if they added anything new to the table , dunno what , but something a new , maybe some type of new endgame like Assaults / Nyzul Isle , those were fun contents back .
