I play on a 42" TV...is there a way to get FFxiv fullscreen?
- Start Menu > Square Enix > Final Fantasy XIV Config > Configuration > Display set to Full Screen

Where do I get those Grob-thing mounts?
- 1) get to lvl 30 on a class, 2) talk to bard npc @ npc camp north of Bloodshore in La Noscea (forget the npc name and camp name)

What are those colored parenthesis?
- Auto Translate: partially write a word then press Tab to see a list of available auto translations, this is to help players other than your native language understand you better.

Is everyone else a bit tired of the UI, as well?
- Nope, but 2.0 is fixing that

Is there any way to pop up more than one hotbar, rather than cycle through them?
- nope. 2.0 will bring addon feature, we should see player created ui customs after that

Is there a way to unlock the battle camera? I like re-situating it during battle, since half the mobs I fight move on me.
- turn off target-lock and/or auto target lock in your in-game configuration

Is there discussion on 'notches' and 'chop at' and stuff, and how...they should be labeled? I'm wondering just how the tradeskill communities (mooglebox.com, for example) were even able to figure this out and why a normal player can't figure this out.
- its trial and error just like in rl.
disciplesoftheland.com is a good site too

How do I know what element a monster is?
- fight it. See what abilities it uses most. Learn the game through exploration.

Someone finally told me the command to turn off the character's helm display. Where do you find out these text commands?
- lodestone > left sidebar > playguide > other features > text and macro commands

Where do you find out valid macro commands and functions (like if I put one ability and its combo ability, will it function, why and why not?)
- lodestone > left sidebar > playguide > other features > text and macro commands

Is there any discussion on making the map window more user-friendly?
- yes. SE already confirmed this will be more user friendly in 2.0

A.C.R.O.N.Y.M.S. Is there a list somewhere with the definitions? Like WS...I know that's an ability, but I have no clue what it stands for. AF, too.
- these are player created acronyms, aske the players as you play. Over time you will learn them, its a small part of MMO right of passage (WS means Weaponskill, AF means Artifact Armor/Gear/Weapon, JSE means Job Specific Gear (same thing as AF)

Is there a way to accurately predict how much damage an ability will do, especially over another? Finding a personal cast-order is difficult.
- practice makes perfect: learn your class/job through trial and error. Theres no substitute. It will make you a better player in the end.

Is there an easier way to shoot someone a /tell?
Ctrl + R responds to someone who already whispered you. You can also send tells from your Friend List and other search menus.

How can I change the target filter?
- In game configuration > Target Settings. Look those over and learn them: option A is best for players who use Gamepads.

Is there a way to not be able to target my own character?
- dont target your own character :P target something else. This is a silly question.

What are factions for? I was finally able to get a leve because of it, but...looked no different than a normal leve.
- Normal Leves are for earning faction credits. Once you get enough points for that specific faction you can attempt a faction leve. You complete faction leves in order which will unlock a faction leve NM fight. The NM drops key items which cam be traded to an npc along with other craft materials in order to obtain a armor or weapon that isn't very useful but can earn you an achievement if you complete each set.

I think that's it...for now.
- cool

Thanks to anyone who can answer these!
- NP
